Classroom News
Welcome to First Grade
I am very excited to begin a new school year and I look forward to working with you and your child. This week we will go over our classroom rules and our school rules.
Each Friday, the spelling words, sight words, and poetry journal will be in each student’s G.A.R.D.E.N. notebook. Students should bring this notebook to and from school daily.
All About Me Paper Bag—This project was sent home on "Meet the Teacher" night on 8/19. The paper bag has instructions on how to complete the All About Me project. Please send in the paper bag with the items that your child has put in the bag to share with the class on Wednesday, 8/21. This activity will help my students get to know each other.
Special Dates to Remember:
Snack Schedule—We have 22 students in our classroom. I placed a new schedule in each student’s G.A.R.D.E.N. notebook.
I will keep you informed when our class will take the MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) Testing—Reading and Math. Students take the tests on the computer in the Computer Lab. It is usually scheduled for the first or second week of school.
