5th Grade Family News
We had a great week. Students worked on their Reading Discovery Education and did a great job. We also enjoyed a great Health Presentation from St. Joesph's Children's Advocacy Center. Students learned about healthy eating choices and the importance of exercise.
Students will have Math Discovery Education next Wednesday, May 18th. Please be sure your child has a good night's sleep and a healthy breakfast.

5th Grade Professor Corner
Miss Anderson's Language Arts Class
This week, 5th grade is continuing to read our novel study, Out of My Mind. We are beginning to think about research topics pertaining to our novel study. Some topics include Stephen Hawking, communication boards, ASL, Cerebral Palsy… I’m looking forward to seeing what students can find out!
Spelling was on hold this week due to DE testing, but it will be back next week As always remember to have your student read 20 minutes every evening.

Mrs. Pennington's Science and Social Studies Class
In science this week, we will continue learning about weather. The students will learn about severe thunderstorms and lightning strikes. We will also look at ways in which human activities are making the environment more susceptible to disasters. In social studies, we will wrap up our chapter on the constitution and begin learning about the Bill of Rights. They will apply this knowledge to the rights and freedoms they enjoy.
