Safety Update

Today was exciting day at West Cypress Hills! The fire alarm was unintentionally activated at approximately 11:15 am. Although this was not an emergency situation, our building was evacuated and district, as well as, local emergency response teams were dispatched. All occupants of the building responded quickly and evacuated safely. We appreciate our staff and emergency responders for always making student safety a priority!

Lake Travis ISD & Healthy Schools to Offer Free Student Flu Shots on September 19

Dear Lake Travis ISD Parents and Guardians,

Lake Travis ISD, in conjunction with Healthy Schools—the nation’s largest school vaccine provider, Schoolhouse Pediatrics and E3 Alliance, is excited to kick off the 2018 “Kick the Flu” campaign.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the 2017 flu season was one of the deadliest on record. CDC officials indicate that the flu vaccine is the best defense against the influenza virus. In an effort to fight the flu across the district, Healthy Schools will make available free flu shots for students at each of our elementary and middle schools on Wednesday, September 19.

Please note, the shots are optional and will only be administered with parent consent. The flu shot is 100% preservative and antibiotic free. It does not contain a live virus, nor can it cause the flu. Upon administration of the flu shot, Healthy Schools staff will enter all vaccination information of participating students into the statewide database, lmmTrac2.

If you would like for your child to receive the free flu vaccine, please register online at www.ltisdflu.com before Friday, September 14. If you are not able to register online but wish for your child to receive the free vaccine at school, please contact me directly.

Should you have any questions or concerns, you may reach me via email at harkleroadb@ltisdschools.org or by phone at 512-533-6015. You may also contact Healthy Schools at 800-566-0596.

Sincerely,

Becca Harkleroad, RN

Nurse Hensel Asking for Small Boys/Girls Underwear

  1. Accidents happen.
  2. When accidents happen, learners still need to be able to comfortably study their lessons.

If we add these 2 events together, the total = Nurse Hensel needs additional pairs of boys' and/or girls' underwear in small sizes, please and thank you. We appreciate your help!
