Friday Final

Fall Family conferences will be held on October 14, 2021 from 5p – 8p and October 15, 2021 from 11:30a – 6:30p. All conferences will be held remotely via the Google Meet platform.

Oak Lawn-Hometown District 123 Family Conferences will be scheduled online via Skyward beginning on October 4, 2021, at 10 am. Families will be able to log into Skyward Family Access and pick their family conference time and date.

• Friday, November 12, 2021 - 6:30pm

• In-person at St. Nicholas Church!

• Table teams of up to 10 will compete to show how much trivial knowledge they truly possess.

• Prizes awarded for both winning team and best theme. Trivia starts at 7:30PM.

• Tons of Raffles and Silent Auction items.

• Teams will also get a certificate for 10 tacos at Jalisco prior to the event.

• Bring snacks, appetizers and dessert to share with your table.

Mrs. Miller’s #OLHMS mathematics scholars tested Vitruvius’ claim by measuring each other’s arm span and height to see if they are equal! 📏 While mathematics and measurement were at the forefront of this particular lesson, evaluating a claim and supporting evidence is also essential in the development of student analytical thinking and argumentative skills.

Project Based Learning (PBL) is a part of the Active Learning goal inside the #D123 Strategic Plan. High-Quality PBL experiences begin with a problem, challenge, or driving question that is sustained for students throughout the experience. This week Sward Kindergarten students along with their teachers Ms. Kangas, Ms. Jensen, and Ms. Glasgow launched a cross-curricular PBL unit by first learning about the needs of plants while also making some initial observations. via twitter.com/d123sward

This week the Covington Dance Club began conditioning by practicing feet positions and turns this week! Extracurricular opportunities like the Dance club expand each child's access to skills and additional social opportunities while giving them a chance to explore something they’re interested in that may not be offered during traditional school hours
