Our marching band is growing and is in need of some new equipment for our show this season. We require a drum set cart, new drum harnesses, marching cymbals, drum stands, microphones and other audio gear. There is a possibility we will be using timpani in the show. If that happens, we will need to have the marching band timpani refurbished.

West Shore Marching Band Fall Schedule
VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION AND CLEARANCES
The West Shore School District welcomes and encourages volunteers in its schools, classrooms and as part of extracurricular activities. For the safety of District students and staff members, any adult wishing to volunteer is required to complete the Volunteer Application Process before being approved to do so. Any adult who supervises, guides or controls students is considered a volunteer. Information about required clearances and the volunteer registration process can be found at:
https://www.wssd.k12.pa.us/VolunteerInformation.aspx
It should be noted that while the music boosters have taken on the responsibility of managing the clearances for volunteers, it's the directors who are ultimately responsible. Having adults who are not properly credentialed puts them at risk as well.
The first time registering as a volunteer and annually thereafter, a volunteer will be asked to provide a signed Volunteer Affirmation form. Signature on this form affirms that the volunteer is in compliance with state volunteer regulations AND has read and understands the District's Guidelines for Volunteers, which includes important information regarding the volunteer's responsibility as a Mandated Reporter of suspected child abuse and the procedures for reporting any such suspicion.
CURRENT SCHOOL DISTRICT EMPLOYEES wishing to volunteer in ANY capacity must also complete and submit a Volunteer Affirmation form.
Beginning in the 2019-20 school year, (July 1) the District will begin issuing Volunteer Identification Badges once a prospective or returning volunteer completes the registration process.
TB SHOT AVAILABILITY
New volunteers needing a TB shot to complete the Volunteer Registration process can obtain a shot several ways in addition to your primary care physician: CVS/ Pinnacle Heath Clinic at the Camp Hill Giant/ or by contacting Mrs. D'Ario, a WSSD nurse. Tests by Mrs. D'Ario will be given in Tuesday, July 23rd or Tuesday, July 30th during regular business hours at Red Land High School. You will need to make an appointment. She can be reached at LDairo@wssd.k12.pa.us
There must be 48 hours between administration of the TB shot and having it read. So if you receive the test on a Tuesday you must go back on Thursday.
TB SHOT AVAILABILITY DURING BAND CAMP
In addition, during Band Camp on Monday, August 12th a school nurse will administer TB shots from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and 6:30 — 7:30 pm. You must be available on Wednesday, August 14th to have the test read. A nurse will be available the same times on Wednesday.
The WSSD cost for the TB shot is $20.00. Checks can be made out to: West Shore School District.
https://www.timetosignup.com/wsmusicboosters/sheet/1284404
THE DEADLINE TO SIGN UP FOR THE TB SHOT DURING BAND CAMP IS AUGUST 6.
ADDITIONAL NIGHT TO REGISTER and RE-REGISTER VOLUNTEERS
On Monday, July 29 at 6:00 pm at Red Land High School we will have district staff available to register new volunteers who have completed their on-line clearance requirements and have a record of their TB shot AND re-register existing volunteers. Bring copies of all required documentation.
Re-registering Existing Volunteers — bring your driver's license or other government issued ID and a completed Volunteer Affirmation Form. (attached)
If you do NOT have current volunteer clearances you may not volunteer at band camp.
