Native American Student Services
Putnam City Schools
March 2022
Greetings from the Director.
Students and parents, as we approach the month of March we are hoping that everyone is progressing satisfactory and positively.
My grandfather once told me a story that applies to each one of you. He shared that our people face the east when saying prayers, he said that was because the answers come from that direction…”where the sun rises”. He meant that’s where the future is, he said the answers to prayers come in many ways and sometimes comes in the form of the young people. He said that young people will solve problems that Native people face. He told me and others “get your education, it can never be taken from you and allows you to compete with anyone”. That’s what my grandfather said…
