Device Updates
Updating Windows Devices During End of Year Procedures
Since we have been working remotely, your work computers have not been connecting to the Jeffco network and thus, have not been able to receive software/security patches and other updates necessary for them to continue working smoothly and securely.
To help with this, we ask that if/when you go into your school for any necessary end of year procedures, please bring your Windows device with you and do the following:
- Upon arrival, boot up and log into your device on the network (WiFi or wired, either is okay).
- Leave your device on for at least 30 minutes while you perform other work tasks (you are able to use your device during this time).
- Reboot your device again and leave on as you continue work tasks.
- After another 30 minutes or so, reboot one more time and leave on as you complete your tasks.
During this period, we expect your device to install updates at least once, if not twice as it reboots. (For those of you who didn’t reboot very often before we left for remote working/learning, you may have a lot of updates.) These updates should improve your work experience on your device wirelessly going forward.
