Wildcat Press Newsletter
Volume 3, Issue 18 ~ March 26 , 2023
I hope you all had a chance to get a break, rest and spend some time with those that are important to you. We are ready to have all of our Wildcats back on campus.
Just a reminder that with the new modified year round schedule we are in what amounts to the last 8 weeks of school. Seniors need to be sure they are staying on top of their grades, this is one of the times we find where they think they have it and begin to slack off. All of our 9-11 graders really need to dive in, we don't want them to end up needing summer school. If you need help please reach out to your or your students teachers.
We are excited for Prom week and then we will be really hitting testing season hard. Please help your students to prepare for their state testing. We are hoping to raise our scores and improve our state rating into the A catagory. This means they need to sleep well, eat in the morning and be on time. We have to reach an 95% number of eligible students testing, so if they miss a testing day, they will be called out of their classes later that week to take the exam.
Looking forward to a great week and race to the finish line!

💻 Check your Chromebook for these 2 items before testing.
District-issued Chromebooks that have a round plug for the charger need to be brought into Global Academy to be exchanged for the newer model. If the end you place into the Chromebook is round, it is an older model and needs to be exchanged for the new style.
If you have an updated Chromebook model, verify you have the most current version of Chrome installed. When you turn on the Chromebook the upper right corner will show the most current version. If it does not state -Chrome 108, shut down the Chromebook and restart, this will install the updates for you.
- 💯 Use practice tests to prepare - the practice test will provide two important benefits. It will allow you to see the format and setup of the test, this will help you on test day to be familiar with the platform and the tools that are available to use, such as an online calculator and dictionary, how to highlight words, etc. It will also provide you with practice questions, which will assist you in the type of questions you will be asked and the formats that are used on the test you are completing.
🆔 If you do not have a School Issued Photo ID, come to Global Academy prior to Spring Break for your photo to be taken and to have an ID made/ issued to you.
Day of Test(s)
- 🍌 Eat a good breakfast,
(this will help keep you focused and prevent a sugar drop that results in you being tired.)
🚗 Arrive on time. Buses will pick up at normal time for bus riders taking the assessment.
(you may want to bring your charger if it does not hold a charge for 6 hours or more while in use and not charging.)
- 💻 Bring your school-issued Chromebook fully charged,
- 🆔 Wear your School issued ID Card on testing day(s)
- 📵 Do not bring cell phones or watches.
(If you have these items in the testing room, the Test Proctor will hold these items for you until the room is dismissed for the testing session.)
🆔 Bring a photo ID- school-issued ID, Drivers license or passport will be accepted if needed.
💧 Bring water in a sealed container, you will be able to use this during breaks.
🥨 Bring a small snack that is kept with your water bottle to eat during a break.
- ➗ Bring your own calculator if you would like. You will have access to DESMO in the testing site.
(the approved calculator for your test(s) is listed below)
- 🎧 Bring headsets that plug into your Chromebook. Wireless/airpods/bluetooth headphones WILL NOT WORK with the secure test site.
(if you need headphones we can provide them for you to borrow.)
