A Message from Administration
We are very excited to start serving lunches again beginning October 5th! It has been a long 6 months since serving lunches, and we ask for your patience as we continue to work out some of the kinks. The menu for October is attached below. Please be advised that the menu may change due to what is available from week to week on US Foods.
Picture day will be on Monday, October 19th and Tuesday, October 20th. Infants, Toddler 1, Toddler 2, and Beginners will have their pictures taken on Monday. Intermediate and Pre-K students will have their pictures taken on Tuesday. If you only attend one day, your student will get their picture taken on the day they attend. Due to COVID-19 and policy changes made by LifeTouch, there have been some changes to our picture day routines. This year parents will not have the choice of color background. Our school has chosen a CREAM background for headshot pictures. In addition, LifeTouch will only accept online payments for pictures. You will still receive your child's picture proof at the end of the day on Tuesday, but all orders and payments must be made online through the LifeTouch Preschool Smiles portal. Information on how to access the portal will be on your child's picture proofs.
We hope everyone has a wonderful month! As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. We are happy to help!

Parent Teacher Conferences
As we are always striving to best meet the needs of each individual child, this year during conferences we are asking parents to come in and help select two additional skills for your child to develop. One skill should be focused on social-emotional aspects and the other skill on cognitive aspects.
We are again implementing the Ages and Stages Questionnaire, or ASQ. Screening young children is an effective, efficient way for professionals to check a child’s development, help parents celebrate their child’s milestones and know what to look for next, and determine whether follow-up steps are needed. It’s also an essential first step toward identifying children with delays or disorders in the critical early years, before they start school. We are so exited to be implementing this into our school system!
ASQ’s items are easy for parents to try with their child and respond to. Questions such as “Does your baby pick up a crumb or Cheerio with the tips of his thumb and a finger?” The parent answers yes, sometimes, or not yet then moves on to the next item. This process takes about 10–15 minutes.
Both parents and teachers will be filling out questionnaires for each child. ASQ packets will be sent home on Monday, October 28th. Please complete and return the packets to your child's teacher by Tuesday, November 3rd. If you have any further questions about the ASQ, you can check out the website at https://agesandstages.com or stop by the office. We are looking forward to partnering with you on the continuing development of your child!
