Teaching the Way of Jesus Christ

February 25, 2019

A Message from our Principal

This morning, we read Luke’s version of the Sermon on the Plain. Jesus surprised his disciples about loving their enemies. In the days of Jesus, it was believed that one should hate enemies and curse those who curse you. Jesus insists that God wants us to be merciful as God is merciful.

Jesus could have easily saved himself from dying on the cross. He’s Jesus. He can do anything. He chose to be nailed to a cross, the ultimate example of turning the other cheek. When someone insults us, we should complement them. It’s so easy to say, but very hard to do. We ask God to follow the teaching of Jesus and help us to be more loving and merciful.

Please join me in congratulating and thanking all the wonderful folks who sacrificed a lot of time in preparing for the 32nd Pot O’ Gold dinner and auction. Special thanks to the Chair and Co-Chair, Maria Orand and Tamara San Miguel.

Peace in Christ,

Dr. John Shreve

Raffle Sales were a SUCCESS!

Raffle sales were a huge success! Together we raised $14,890.00!!!!! Thank you to all who participated in helping us reach our goal!

LIGHTS, CAMERA, HORNETS! IT'S A WRAP!!!!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! To everyone who attended the event, for the all donations, buying raffle tickets, for the help putting baskets together, making Ridglea beautiful, moving in and moving out and so much more. The night was a success because of all these things and more. Pot O' Gold is a true labor of love. The OSCAR's last night had nothing on our red carpet event on Saturday.

There will be a short break and then the planning of 2020 Pot O' Gold will start again I will be handing it over to Tamara SanMiguel to chair 2020. I know she will get the support and help I have received these last two years. Please consider co chairing with her, or chairing a comittee. This is not a one person project. This takes the whole school to make POG not only fun, but the purpose is to raise much needed funds for our little school.

I know POG 2020 is going to be a success, because I had 2 families already reach out to me with GREAT LIVE AUCTIONS. I am so excited about these new auctions items.
