Returning to Learn in the 2021-2022 School Year
WELCOME BACK TO THE 2021-22 SCHOOL YEAR!
FACE-TO-FACE, IN-PERSON INSTRUCTION (5 DAYS/WEEK)
WHAT IF WE DON'T WANT TO RETURN TO IN-PERSON INSTRUCTION?
VIRTUAL OPTION #1 - K-12 EdOptions Academy (Edmentum)
EdOptions Academy courses are completely web-based and designed to allow students to work on their own schedules, from any computer with an internet connection and a standard web browser. Courses are broken up into units that include activities like pretests, tutorials, practice activities, discussion posts, mastery tests, and posttests to ensure that students master each concept before moving on. For every course your student is enrolled in, they are assigned a highly qualified, state-certified EdOptions Academy virtual teacher-of-record who will be in regular communication to monitor progress, provide support and intervention when necessary, and grade all assignments. As part of their EdOptions Academy course(s), your student will have access to a video conferencing platform to facilitate opportunities for live instruction with their virtual teacher(s).
NOTE: Chromebooks are provided by CSD if needed, however students must have internet access. Teachers for these courses are not employed by CSD but are certified Michigan teachers.

VIRTUAL OPTION #2 - K-12 Virtual Learning Academy Consortium (VLAC)
The Virtual Learning Academy Consortium (VLAC) is a high-quality, home-based virtual learning opportunity for students in Kindergarten -12th grade. Our program is a public school option for parents (and other caregivers) preferring a flexible, home-based environment and who are willing to guide their child's learning. Parents, students and staff in the VLAC program work together to keep our students engaged and excited about learning.
We know that an excellent education can happen when parents and schools become true partners in a child’s education. VLAC is a partnership that ensures that a warm, meaningful and supportive environment is established from the very beginning of a child’s educational experience. This partnership also allows each child to flourish and become a well-rounded and unique person whose individual strengths and talents can be developed to their full potential.
NOTE: Students who enroll in VLAC are provided with technology equipment and materials needed to participate in the program. Teachers for these courses are not employed by CSD but are Michigan certified teachers.
Virtual Learning Academy Consortium (VLAC) has an upcoming virtual event for families that are interested in enrolling for the 2021-2022 school year!
Date: Thursday, August 19th
