Beta Club Baby Supply Drive
The Beta Club is collecting baby needs to distribute to a local charity to ensure that mothers in the area have sufficient diapers and wipes. We will collect diapers, sizes preemie to pull ups, unscented baby wipes and diaper cream all week. Please bring your donations to the Beta Club table in the landing during Refuel or see Mrs. Vess in room A118 before or after school with your donations. As always, JCHS Beta Club thanks you for your support.
Madison City Schools Seal of Biliteracy
Applications for the Madison City Schools Seal of Biliteracy will go live beginning Monday, October 24th and end November 4th for fall semester testing. Go to the MCS website and apply online.
Fees can be paid to Ms. Shratter in C220. For any questions, go see Ms. Shratter.
It’s Impact Aid Time!
Help us determine the amount of federal funds MCS qualifies to receive from the program, which is designed to lessen the impact of federal activity on the budgets of school districts when parents are on active duty or live or work on certain federal properties. Are you thinking about those blue cards? Not this year! We are piloting an electronic survey in PowerSchool. Simply follow the provided instructions to complete a separate “Impact Aid Parent-Pupil Survey 2022” for each student in your household before the November 2 deadline. We appreciate your cooperation in the past and want you to know that since 1999, we’ve received nearly $5 million in Impact Aid funds and another $13 million in grant funds – ALL because of this survey and your cooperation.
Yearbooks and Fall Pictures
Remember to purchase your 2022-2023 yearbook!
A limited number of extra 2021-2022 yearbooks from the LAST school year are available for purchase at the front desk during school hours. Your purchase includes the 16-page insert that covers school events from mid-March through graduation. The price is $125 each while supplies last, payable via exact cash or a check made payable to JCHS.

Mental Health Matters
Friday, October 28th
Madison City Schools and Madison City PTA are continuing our Mental Health Matters initiative with free parent/community workshops this year. The first one coming up on October 28 will address Helping Students Cope with Anxiety. Parents can attend just one workshop that interests them or attend them all. These workshop sessions are provided in partnership by Madison City Schools and Madison City Council of PTAs to bring deeper understanding on how to support the mental health of young people. All sessions are led by area mental health professionals.
