Indigenous People's Day
As we celebrate Indigenous People's Day, here is a video you can watch and a land use acknowledgment.
We collectively acknowledge that this space occupies the ancestral and sacred lands occupied by the Barona band of the Kumeyaay, which settled here 12,000 years ago. This land was forcibly taken and was never ceded by the indigenous people living here. We collectively understand that offering Land Acknowledgements or Land Recognitions does not absolve settler-colonial privilege or theoretically colonial structures of violence, either through individual or institutional levels. By acknowledging that this injustice continues, we commit to work toward ending the oppression of all marginalized people everywhere
October is LGBTQ+ History Month! During this month we celebrate the incredible contributions this community has made to our country! Here is a slide deck to learn about a few of the individuals we are celebrating
October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month: Here is a video to learn a little bit more about Down Syndrome and how we can make sure everyone feels included, accepted, and loved!
