Klem South Family Read Aloud Challenge

Sharing time together reading and enjoying books is one of the best ways to promote the love of reading for our children! We know that reading aloud to children will help build curiosity and an overall motivation to learn. Reading shared texts also gives you more to talk about with children, which supports language and vocabulary growth.

At school, our students are participating in March Book Madness, where they are listening to interesting books and voting on their favorites.

From now until the beginning of spring recess, we encourage your family to participate in the Klem South Family Read Aloud Challenge at home. Here are the rules:

1. Set aside time each week to read aloud to your child(ren).

2. Enjoy your time together!

- Print out the Reading Chain below to create a paper chain of the books you have read. Display your chain proudly in your home.

- Record the books you have read on the family calendar.

- Share a picture of your books or you reading together on Twitter. Use the hashtag #klemsouthreads.
