Klem South Family Read Aloud Challenge
At school, our students are participating in March Book Madness, where they are listening to interesting books and voting on their favorites.
From now until the beginning of spring recess, we encourage your family to participate in the Klem South Family Read Aloud Challenge at home. Here are the rules:
1. Set aside time each week to read aloud to your child(ren).
2. Enjoy your time together!
Optional:
- Print out the Reading Chain below to create a paper chain of the books you have read. Display your chain proudly in your home.
- Record the books you have read on the family calendar.
- Share a picture of your books or you reading together on Twitter. Use the hashtag #klemsouthreads.

When making bus pass requests, please remember to include the bus number and destination address.
Parent Teacher Conferences
We have half days for parent teacher conferences on:
Thursday, March 12th
Friday, March 13th &
Friday, March 20th
On these days, families who are picking up their children should come to the main foyer at 10:10 AM.
Buses will be dismissed at 10:20 AM.
Please remember to send a note in with your child if his/her dismissal procedures are changing for these days. On your note please include:
Your child’s full name (first and last)
Bus # & Drop Off Address
Who is picking your child up
Community Arts Day is Coming!
Please join us for the 44th Annual Community Arts Day on Saturday, April 18th from 10AM-4PM. This is an event for all ages, showcasing student artwork and musical performances all day, community groups, arts and crafts vendors, kids craft stations, The YMCA carnival, Webster’s Got Talent Show, breakfast, lunch, snacks and sweet treats ! All of the funds raised from this event go back to Webster’s 11 schools for arts enrichment.
TALENT SHOW
The annual “Webster’s Got Talent” talent show at Community Arts Day is looking for performers! Singers, dancers, musicians and artists of all kinds are encouraged to participate!
Talent acts should be between 2-3 minutes long. Go to www.websterptsa.org/talentshow and register today !
Registration Deadline is April 7th.
VOLUNTEERS
Please consider a volunteer spot at Community Arts Day! Every volunteer from our school means more money for student programs funded by PTSA.
There are positions available for 4 - 12 graders, and adults. If you are unable to volunteer in person, you can still help ! Donate a store-bought quality baked good to the Sweet Treats Sale at CAD.

The F.I.R.E. group has committees helping the district to better serve our students of color and to bring greater equity for all students to our classrooms, school district and community. We will be discussing the “Dignity for All Students” Act in NY State and the rights of all students under it.
You are invited to add your voice and experience to F.I.R.E.’s committees: Recruitment, African American Heritage, Hispanic Heritage, Culturally Responsive Curriculum, Family Engagement.

March Update from the Board of Education
MARCH = MUSIC IN OUR SCHOOLS and YOUTH ART MONTH!
Every year, school districts throughout the nation celebrate our student artists and musicians by recognizing March as Music In Our Schools Month (MIOSM) and Fine Arts Month. Webster CSD is no exception and invites you to join in the celebration by enjoying two musicals during the month of March. First up is Spry Middle School’s presentation of Fiddler on the Roof on Friday, March 6 through Saturday, March 7 at 7:30 p.m. nightly with a 2:30 p.m. matinee on Saturday. Please note that Spry will hold its performances at the Willink Middle School cafetorium due to construction at Spry. Tickets for Fiddler on the Roof Jr. are $7 each and can be bought online at https://www.showtix4u.com/event-details/37780.
Then, to wrap up MIOSM, the Webster Thomas Players will present the beloved classic, The Music Man, on Thursday, March 26 through Saturday, March 28 nightly at 7:30 p.m. (plus a 2:00 p.m. matinee on March 28). Tickets are $12 and may be purchased by visiting www.websterthomasplayers.com.
Also be sure to visit www.websterschools.org for a detailed calendar listing of the MANY concerts throughout MIOSM, including the ever-popular Willink Middle School Parent/Student Band concert on Saturday, March 14, at 7:00 p.m. You can also see plenty of amazing student artists’ work at Central PTSA’s Community Arts Day upcoming on Saturday, April 18, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Webster Schroeder High School. Enjoy the art, performances, and delicious food during this family-friendly One Webster event!
F.I.R.E. Meeting Dates Reminder; Community Invited to Join
Families Igniting Racial Equity (F.I.R.E.) began last spring with the goal to spread racial equity throughout our One Webster community. They look forward to continuing the great work that they have undertaken and welcome others to join!

March Update from the Klem South PTSA
Bingo Night is this Friday, March 6th from 6:00-7:30 PM. All families are welcome, but please send back your RSVP so we know how many to expect. Sugary Delights Gourmet Cotton Candy will be here selling cotton candy for $3.00 each. 20% of all sales will be given back to the PTSA so we can continue to run these fun family events at low or no cost to you!
Our next PTSA meeting is Wednesday, March 18th from 6:00-7:00 PM. We are always looking for new ideas, events, and fundraising suggestions. Please join us at the meeting!
