Getting Creative in Reception
What a creative week it has been in Reception! This week, the children continued on their learning journey, 'Prehistoric Party!' and learnt that the pterodactyl is in fact a pterosaur and not a dinosaur! The children worked together brilliantly, combining all their creative skills to build their very own model pterosaur (whom they have affectionately named Terry!). What a super addition to the classroom. Creativity continued to flow with Skylar producing a fantastic collage of a volcano – great idea Skylar! Many of the children were inspired to make their own volcanic artwork and were very proud of what they achieved.

School Update
It has been another busy week in school.
Picking up
Just a reminder for all parents that if someone other than yourself is picking up your child, for safeguarding reasons, please do ensure that you let us know in advance. Thank you
Covid Update
This week we received updated guidance with regards to safe operation during the pandemic. There is very little that has changed and the overarching message is that we are not out of the pandemic yet and social distancing when in public and when using footpaths, waiting in queues etc. remains the best way to stay safe. Please do ensure that you continue to socially distance when on the school site and we do ask at this time that adults continue to wear masks.
Attendance
Attendance continues to be high in most classes. A particular well done to our children and families in Year 1 and Reception who have regularly had an average class attendance of around 98% - 100% over the last half term.
Extra Curricular Clubs
Due to the improving situation with the pandemic we will be starting some extra curricular clubs after half term. We will be writing out to some of the classes next week to offer additional provision which will start from 7th June 2021. Places at clubs will be limited and offered on a first come first served basis.
Have a great weekend

Pyjamarama day in Reception and Nursery - Friday 21st May
We are inviting all of our Nursery and Reception children to join us for Pyjamarama, a day in pyjamas to help make sure no child misses out on their bedtime story.
On Friday 21st May, we are asking children in Nursery and Reception to wear their pyjamas all day long and bring in a £1 donation. Children will also require a coat and sensible footwear e.g. trainers or school shoes.
Schools up and down the country will be taking part to raise money for the UK’s largest children’s reading charity. BookTrust is dedicated to getting children reading and each year reaches 3.9 million families, providing books and support to help get children started on their reading journey.
Oscar's Club
We will not be running a holiday club in the May half term break but we are hoping to finalise our summer holiday dates soon. Most likely we will hold the club on Tuesday to Thursday in both the first and last week of the summer break.
Please contact Mrs Rich in the office if you have any questions or experience issues logging on.
