A Message from the Principal
November 1, 2021
Dear Holy Family Catholic School Community,
It’s a busy week for all of our aspiring saints here at HFCS!
Mrs. Conway’s fourth grade class presented a Texas History Reader’s Theater to the younger students in the library last week.
I want to thank all of the HFCC parishioners who attended our Parishioner Focus Group last Wednesday night. At least thirty people came and shared their thoughts about the different ways we can improve HFCS and it was great to be with alums, and parents and grandparents of alums, who love our school!
Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 2, we will have a Lunch and Learn at noon for prospective families. We have several events coming up for prospective families, please tell your friends, neighbors and relatives about our great school!
I am looking forward to this Wednesday’s Home and School Association meeting where we will continue our strategic planning conversation. Pizza will be served at 5:30pm.
Blessings,
Ann Walters
Principal

While your season ended with a loss to Oakridge, winning is not always the most important thing.
Reflect on your season and the friendships made and how you pulled together as a team. That is what winning is all about!

Holy Family Catholic Community
Hello Holy Family School Parents! My name is Keisha Matthews and I am the director of Music and Liturgy at Holy Family. You may have seen me with the Cantors at the school Masses. I also direct the Children’s and Youth Choirs at the Church, a position I have held for the past 27 years.
Music has always been in my life. My dad was a choir director and I sang my first solo in our church when I was five years old. I do not ever remember not singing in church and music, especially church music, is a huge part of my life. I’d like it to be a part of your child’s life too. Proverbs 22:6 says “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” While of course we know this proverb isn’t referring to children’s choirs, I think the principle applies to children’s choirs as well. “Train up” a child in the children’s choir and there’s a good chance that child will keep singing their whole life long – and having a positive experience at church can stay with them into adulthood, making it more likely they’ll continue as a churchgoer. Singing at Mass, and therefore helping lead the Mass, helps children feel the power of the presence of God in the context of worship. It will make them better worshipers as they start to grasp the impactful beauty of the worship experience.
Right now, we have very tiny choirs and need more members. I invite you to bring your child to a Children’s (2nd – 6th grade) or Youth Choir (7th – 12th grade) rehearsal. We rehearse on Wednesdays and sing only once a month at the 5:00 Mass, although in months like December, we sing twice. Remember…”he who sings prays twice!” Please give me a call at 817-502-7884 or email me at kmatthews@holyfamilyfw.org for more information.
