ILEARN Testing April 29-May 3
THANK YOU to all grade levels and classrooms who supported our test takers and teachers. WOW! I heard so many nice comments from the 3rd and 4th grade teachers regarding your kindness!!
Third graders are finished except for some make ups. Fourth graders will be taking science on Monday and Tuesday of this week. We are excited to take this test because we feel confident our kiddos are going to do GREAT!!
Deb Meadows still has two more days of testing and possible make-ups.
Kelly, Beth, and I will be doing make ups this week. Hopefully we will finish by May 3.
Maker Space Room- Ana/ Beth
First Grade Wing, Room 6- Deb Meadows
The resource room will be closed in the mornings (hopefully only the mornings) for the next two school days.
PLEASE ENCOURAGE STUDENTS TO BE RESPECTFUL and QUIET in the hallways.
Specials teachers please be flexible. Classroom teachers please communicate to specials teachers if you know your class will not be going to specials. At this point, third grade is planning on specials each morning.
Additional Staffing Updates
We have submitted our recommendation for the hiring of a third grade teacher to Dr. Layton. If all goes well, we should be fully staffed with teachers for next year. Thank you to Kelly Johnston and the third grade team. We reviewed many applications and interviewed 11 candidates. We are thrilled with our candidate and will announce the name in next week's Peek at the Week.

Indiana's Employability Standards
Indiana’s Employability Skills Standards allow students to be prepared for the ever-changing needs of today’s workforce. These standards are to be implemented beginning in the 2019-2020 school year. The expectation is for students to work through the standards in multi-subject areas. We will review the Indiana Employability Standards at our May 7th staff meeting. Don't panic! Many of the standards are already being taught.
