Golden Tickets

Congratulations to the following classes for earning at least 50 Golden Tickets:

If our campus earns at least 3,000 Golden Tickets on or before October 19th, we will have a dance party in the gym! Our current campus total is 2550.

Watch DOG Kick-Off Success

Thank you to all of the dads, grandfathers, uncles, brothers, etc that attended Wednesday's Watch DOG Kick-Off event! If you were unable to make it to the meeting, please email our Assistant Principal, Missy Howard, to sign up for a day. Her email address is

All Watch DOGs must have an updated background check on file before volunteering on campus. Watch DOGs will return on campus in early October.

Registration Paperwork

Don't forget to send in registration paperwork that went home on the first day of school for all students! In addition to having current contact information, permission for students to attend field trips, and have their pictures in the yearbook/other school sponsored activities are included in the registration paperwork.

UIL Kick-Off Event

It's almost that time of year to form UIL teams for the 2018 UIL District Meet on January 25, 2019 here at LVES. We have been UIL District Champions two years running, and want to make it a three-peat! UIL events are open to any 2nd - 5th grader. To kick things off we will have an information event on September 26th during 2nd and 3rd grade lunches. Our awesome UIL Coordinator, Cathy Evans, will be there to talk about the different events and introduce coaches. 2nd and 3rd graders who are interested in trying out for one of the UIL events will be able to sign up after the this event. The letter below will be going home in today's Friday folder.

PK and Kinder Hearing/Vision Screening Rescheduled for Thursday, September 27th.

Hearing/Vision Screening for 1st and 3rd - September 28th

All 1st and 3rd grade students will have their vision and hearing checked on Friday, September 28th. If your child wears glasses, please make sure that he/she wears them to school on that day.

Campus Educational Improvement Committee (CEIC)

The Lago Vista Elementary Campus Educational Improvement Committee (CEIC) is a group of teachers, parents, community members and local business owners who serve in an advisory capacity to review data and campus programs. Our committee is looking for two parents, a community member and a business owner rep. Members serve on this committee for a 2-year rotation. Meetings are held quarterly at 3:15 in the LVES library. GT Fall Referral

G/T Fall Referrals for Students in Grades 1-12 are due Monday, October 15th!

Parents of students in grades 1-12 who consent to having their child screened for the

Lago Vista ISD Gifted and Talented Education Program should complete a referral form and return it the student's school by October 15th. Note: Parent consent is obtained each spring for all kindergarten students, so referrals for G/T screening are not accepted for students in kindergarten.

PTO News

PTO will be conducting a Fundraiser called "Write the Check Campaign". Remember that 100% of the funds collected benefit our school, our students, and our teachers. Donations help purchase new and fun supplies to engage students in hands-on learning in science and technology, sports equipment, field trip scholarships, awards for student achievements, music and art supplies and much more! Forms will be coming home today! The "Write the Check Campaign" will run from September 14th through October 19th.

2018-2019 Yearbook

Thank you everyone that submitted pictures for “Meet the Teacher” & “1st Day of School”. They will appear in this years yearbook! The next photo submission opportunity is for "Running of the Vikings" and "Football player, cheerleader visits". Please try to send these as you take them. Final deadline is November 4th. Grandparents lunch is coming up, please get lots of pictures, deadline to submit for this page of yearbook & category of photos is Sunday, September 9th. Want to Volunteer?

We love volunteers at LVES! If you are interested in volunteering in any capacity at LVES (field trips, Room Parent, Watch DOG, Friday Folder Parent, PTO, etc), you must fill out a background check form. Background checks are done yearly, so even returning volunteers must complete a new form at the beginning of the year prior to volunteering on campus.

Completed forms can be dropped at the LVISD Administration building located at 8039 Bar-K Ranch Road. Please allow at least 2 weeks for background checks to process.

We had a dip in attendance this week. Two grade levels met or exceeded our attendance goal for the week!

Attendance for the week of 9/21/2018: 94.12%

Grade Level Attendance:

EE: 86.67%

PK: 91.11%

Kinder: 96.80% - Great job meeting our attendance goal!

1st Grade: 95.38%

2nd Grade: 98.57% - Awesome job exceeding our attendance goal for the 2nd week in a row!

3rd Grade: 96.19%

September's Character Trait of The Month is Responsibility. Here are few ways we can show Responsibility...

  • Think before you act - consider the consequences;
  • Be accountable for your words, actions and attitudes;

Our front office is open Monday-Friday from 7:30-4:00 pm. If you call before or after that time, you will need to leave a message and someone from the office staff will return your call the next day.
