Glass Barn Field Trip

Field Trip Details

  • Monday, May 9th
  • Leave school at 9:15
  • Return to school at 2:00
  • Dress for the weather
  • Sack lunch needed - no carbonated drinks

I sent home another the fairground's permission slips on Friday. Please return by Wednesday. If your child did not show you this slip, please let me know.

What's Happening This Week

Writer's Workshop:
We are still working on poetry. We will be writing color poems, alliteration poems, cinquain, and list poems. We will begin editing and revising our poems.

Reader's Workshop:

The students are finishing their National Geographic project. They are working in groups to teach their classmates about the article they read. We will then begin discussing fairy tales.

Math Workshop:

We are wrapping up our Geometry unit. We will be discussing the different types of triangles and symmetry. We will review the concepts covered in this unit and will have a test on Thursday.


We will be doing some investigations with crops grown in Indiana to prepare for our Field Trip to the Glass Barn.

Social Studies:

We are discussing the three branches of government. The students will work to identify the role each branch has in our government. We will discuss how the three branches change at the Federal, State, and Local level.
