We are Thankful!
This year we will once again extend the spirit of giving to the Thanksgiving Holiday. As a school community, we would like to offer support to Gayman families in need by means of food baskets. Each classroom will be collecting items to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner for a family in need. We are suggesting that each child bring in a food item from the list below. Contributions will be collected in the classrooms beginning Wednesday, November 3rd through Thursday, November 18th.
If you would like to make a monetary contribution, we will use the funds to purchase grocery store gift cards for families. Please send your donation (cash or check made payable to “Gayman Elementary School”) to the school office in an envelope marked “Thanksgiving Fund.”
We appreciate your voluntary participation in this worthwhile project. We truly believe that in giving we also receive, and helping others immeasurably enriches our children’s lives.

Please open this flier, Sharing Information with Programs, for more information, or email Liz Meier, our student support counselor.
I am ... smart... athletic... kind. I am ME!
Wall of Heroes
To honor the men and women who have served, we are creating a Wall of Heroes! Please feel free to choose one template, add a photo or draw a picture, and then, send it in with your child. Your family member/friend will be honored on our Wall of Heroes!
These posters will be hanging in the main hallway of Gayman for the month of November.
Veteran Guest Speakers: Nov. 11th
To mark this special day, we are hosting "Veteran Class Speakers". Any veteran, or someone currently serving in the military, is invited to speak to a class. The time of the presentation will be determined by the teacher and speaker.
A 20-minute presentation would include:
- A description of your military job/responsibilities
- A favorite memory from your service
- Questions from the students
Ideally, we need 20 veterans. NOTE: While we will make every effort to match you with your child's (grandchild's) class, you may be speaking to a different class. Email Jennifer Costello at email@example.com, if you are interested before November 5th.
To all of our veterans - thank you for your service!

International Travel & Technology Access
The Technology and Innovation Department blocks Microsoft Office 365 logins to Outlook, OneDrive, ClassLink, and Canvas from foreign countries. This aids in protecting our CBSD user accounts and organization from malicious computer attacks from outside of the United States.
Students who travel cannot assume their devices will work once they leave the United States. For student out-of-country access requests, please know that access to technology for vacations will not be approved at this time.
All attendance questions can be directed to Christine Stevens, firstname.lastname@example.org, in the Gayman Office.
If your clearances are current, upload them into the App Garden - Volunteer Tracker. If your clearances have expired, or you need to begin the clearance process, click on the Required Documents for the directions. As polices change, the CBSD school board policies will supersede the Gayman Student Handbook.
