Longhorn Stampede

2018-19: Leading the Herd (1)

Big picture

Welcome Back, Longhorns!

Lone Star Families,
Please read all the way through to the end of this newsletter. It contains an exciting piece of information just for you!

We can't wait to see your smiling faces at Meet the Teacher this week! Remember that if you will be walking your child to class on the first day, you will want to drop your license off so we can run your V-soft sticker while you walk around. Pick up your tag on the way out, and you will be able to skip the long line on Day 1!

Walking your children back:
Any/Every Day - All parents may walk to the Hug&Kiss zone in the foyer, and children will continue past the hallway doors on their own (We always have staff in the hallways to help!)
Day 1 (August 21) - All grades; parents must have visitor sticker
Days 1-3 (August 21, 22, 23) PK and Kdg; parents must check in at front desk and get visitor sticker
Days 1-5 (August 21, 22, 23, 24, 27) PK; parents must check in at front desk and get visitor sticker

Thank you! This helps us ensure that staff attention is focused on children and safe protocols are in practice.

Meet Your 2nd Grade Homeroom Teacher: Mrs. Williams, room 207

Welcome to Lone Star! I'm Mrs. Williams, and you are going to be an important part of my second grade class. I look forward to meeting you and finding out about all of your awesomeness! Here is a little bit about me.

I was born in Oklahoma, but have lived in Texas for almost twenty years. I have two kiddos of my own, and an adorable Yorkie named Rosie. I have a fifth grader, Carson, who goes to school here at Lone Star, and my daughter, Kinsey, is an eighth grader at Oak Hills Junior High. My husband teaches at MHS. We all love Montgomery (especially our Longhorns and Lions)!

My classroom has a motto. It is the "Classroom of No Worries." So take a deep breath and relax knowing you are coming into one of the best classes around!

This is my fifteenth year teaching, and I will be helping you learn all about math and science. Mrs. Baldwin is my teaching partner, and she will teach you all you need to know about reading and writing .

This is going to be a great year full of learning and fun! I can't wait to meet you!

Parents, please feel free to email a picture of your child and a few sentences about them to your child's teacher in response.
