Lake Agassiz Elementary School

3 Successful Weeks Back!
After many weeks of planning and preparing for students, it seemed like the time would never come for students to be back in the building! Now we are three weeks into the 2020 school year with many, many successes along the way! Students and staff are masked up, distancing when we can, and cleaning and sanitizing often. Our students and staff have been troopers with all of the regulations and precautions. It is worth it just to be together! We missed being together as a staff and with our Lake Agassiz students!
Fall 2020 Parent/Teacher/Student Goal Setting
Dear Parents: This year you will be signing up for virtual parent-teacher conferences utilizing Sign-Up Genius. Conferences will be held on Tuesday, October 6th from 4-7 pm, Thursday, October 8th from 4-7 pm, and on Friday, October 9th from 12-4 pm.
Our teachers are looking forward to meeting with you and your child via Zoom for parent-teacher conferences this fall! Here you will find a link to a 2020 Fall Conferences Sign-Up Genius. Please select the date and time you would like to meet with your child's teacher to discuss your child’s progress and goals for this year.
Tuesday, Sept. 29th: Sign up via Sign-up Genius by 5 pm this day.
Wednesday, Sept 30th: Teachers will assign time slots to those families who have not signed up.
Monday, October 5th: Zoom links will be sent to families from classroom teachers. Be looking for that link in your email!
Parents with Multiple Children: Note you will need to sign up for a separate conference with each child’s teacher.
Please include parent first name, last name, and email address when signing up and place your child’s name in the comment box before clicking “Sign Up Now”. Your information will not be shown publicly.
Other News and Notes
Arrival & Dismissal: Students that are not going to breakfast may enter the building between 8:00 and 8:25 am. They should enter through their grade level door (same door they exit from each day) and walk right to their classroom.
Distance Learner Notes
You are still a part of our LA team! We will do our best to keep you updated through your assigned teacher and newsletters as well. Please contact our office if you are missing out on information that typically comes from our office. Make sure you are reading our newsletters and Sunday News emails. Not everything will pertain to our at-home learners, but we still want you to be informed of our 'happenings'.
Some items just for you:
School Pictures: Our school pictures will take place on Oct 13th. Once we determine our schedule, we will email that information out to families. Distance families will be able to fill out the order form that day, outside Door 9, students (only) will enter through Door 9, get their pictures taken, and exit the building through Door 10. You are not required to take school pictures, but are more than welcome to! Stay tuned for the scheduled time in the coming weeks!
Flu Shots: We have been informed that the district and Welcore are working on a Flu shot "drive-up" this fall. Once that information is shared with us, we will get that information sent out to you all.
School Rallies: We are doing our school rallies virtually this year! After each rally, we will send out a recording through your child's teacher.

PARENTS LEAD
"Talking openly and honestly with your kids is one of the most effective ways to support their
behavioral health. Whether it’s everyday topics like friends and school, or more serious topics like substance use, anxiety, or depression, it’s never too early to start the conversation. As your kids grow, your conversations may change, but they will always be centered on keeping them happy, healthy, and safe. Keep your conversations relaxed, friendly, non-judgmental, and genuine. And most importantly, be a good listener. What do I say? Visit www.parentslead.org"
Annual Title 1 Information

As always, we appreciate your support as we work together to make the 2020-2021 school year a success. Thank you!
