Character Education…Our Shared Responsibility
Character education teaches the habits of thought and deed that help people live and work together as families, friends, neighbors, communities, and nations. Our staff at Adams Elementary are looking for students who are demonstrating Fortitude, which is our character word this month.
Please encourage your child to practice each word of the month. There is a different character word each month. Teachers recognize one student every month who stand out demonstrating each trait.

Adams BARK Expectations
Please remind your kids of our Adams BARK Expectations
B- Be Responsible
A - Always Do Your Best
R - Respect Others, Property, and Self
K - Keep Safe
We use these expectations to create a safe learning environment so every student can achieve success. When your student displays these behaviors they can earn points to use at our School Store and they are entered into the weekly drawing for Bulldog Bags.
A special thank you to Viera’s Bakery for the coupons they donated for our bulldog bags!!
Cell Phone Policy at Adams Elementary
Adams Cell Phone Policy for Students - If a student brings a cell phone or their tablet, it must be turned off and in the backpack. This is for ALL times during the school day, including all recesses, until they are released at the end of the day.
If the student has their phone out:
First time - The student will have to put the phone on your desk (turned off) until the end of the day.
Second time and on - The student will be sent to the office to turn in the phone. Their parent or adult will have to come to the building to pick up the phone, when possible.
If you have any questions or concerns please with the office call at (509)573-5100.
Dress for the weather!
WINTER TIME!! Please send your students to school prepared to go outside and play even when there is snow and cold weather. We recommend a heavy coat, gloves/mittens, hat, scarf and boots or warm shoes.
Remember to put your child’s name on the inside of their coat in case it gets lost.

Adams Office Staff
Attendance is a key factor to having your child succeed in school. Therefore, it is very important that your child is at school on time. . . EVERYDAY. Students who miss just one or two days of school each month can fall seriously behind and lead to doing poorly in school and are more likely to not graduate. Every absence even if it is excused matters. They are missing learning when they are not here.
You are key to improving your child’s attendance.
On the flyer below there are a couple tips on how your child can be at school on time.
