Important Information about Gifted Review
Each fall semester the gifted review team looks at existing student data to discuss students’ needs and to determine if further evaluation for possible gifted identification is needed. If you are interested in having the team discuss your child’s needs, you may complete a Recommendation for Review Form (found at this website) and submit it to the Gifted Specialist at your child’s school by October 9th. No additional information is needed.
The Gifted Specialists for F.AVE are Jennifer Broman-Fulks (3rd grade), Edwin Ellis (4th grade) and Jackie Theisen (5th grade). For more detailed information about the review process and to obtain a copy of the Recommendation for Review Form, please contact the Gifted Specialist for your child's grade level or visit the website linked above.

PTO News
Next PTO Meeting: Tuesday 9/3
Join us for our next meeting on 9/3 at 6pm in the Media Center.
Fall Family Social is Friday!
Join us at our Family Fall Social this Friday, 9/6 from 5-7pm on the F.Ave Lower Playground. We will have music, free SnoCones, corn hole, and fun! Oakhurst Market and Mojo Pizza will be on site with food for sale, or you can bring your own picnic dinner. This FREE event is open to the whole family – grandparents & siblings are welcome to join the fun. Hope to see you there!
Join Us for the 1st Walk&Roll to School Day: Tues, 9/10
Each child who participates will receive a bookmark, as well as a chance to win a book of their choice from the Media Center. If you cannot walk all the way, consider driving to Harmony Park (corner of Mead, Oakview, and Eastlake) and walk the final 0.4 miles. There are plenty of parking spots around that area, and you’ll be sure to meet many other families doing the same.
Additional 'Stop, Drop, and Walk' routes to F.Ave are found here (https://www.csdecatur.net/Page/1647). If you must drive, please be extra cautious that morning, as there will be lots of extra children walking or riding their bikes. Give them extra room (remember, a 3 foot distance is the law, but more is always better!), as they might not be as sturdy or mindful on their bikes as adults.
If you have any questions, please contact: kendallhamilton@bellsouth.net
