The Color of Water
James McBride
The Color Of Water is great book about a black mans tribute to his white mother who raised 12 african american children including himself. He persuades his mother to tell her story about how she was a rabbi's daughter born in Poland and raised in the south, who fled to harlem and married a black man, founded a bapist church and put 12 children through college.
James McBride the author and son.
Ruth McBride mother.
Book Cover
The book is a really good read, and I can relate to it because I am biracial child and im being raised by a white mother. The book really shows the love that Ruth McBride had for her children and i also shows what a great job she did with them to send all twelve of them to college.
