Dear Middlebrook Families,
Many classes gathered around the "white table" in our foyer learning the significance of each of the items. "The White Table is set in many mess halls as a symbol for and remembrance to service members fallen, missing, or held captive in the line of duty."
SET WITH PRIDE
- A WHITE TABLECLOTH for purity of motive
- A BLACK NAPKIN for prisoners of war
- A LIT CANDLE to remind us that America is a light in a world of darkness
- A RED ROSE for the hopes and prayers of those awaiting their loved one's return
- A RIBBON TIED TO THE VASE for our determination in finding them
- AN INVERTED GLASS for the missed meal
- A SLICE OF LEMON for the bitter fate of the missing
- A PINCH OF SALT for the tears of their families
Our 4th graders watched a quick video of the changing of the guard. "The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is a monument dedicated to soldiers whose remains could not be identified and stands to pay tribute to these individuals and their contributions on the land, in the air, and at sea during wars or significant conflicts."
Veterans Day Tribute Video From Our Student Council
The 3rd grade brownie troop (Troop 30145) is happy to report the completion and the installation of the new Little Free Library when the troop added some books. The troop encourages all families to take a book and donate books when they can. We are so thankful for this wonderful donation and it is a great addition to the Middlebrook and TECEC communities.
Grades K and 1 learned from our Trumbull Volunteer Fire Department all about fire safety. Not only did they gain knowledge about how to stay safe at home, they learned that firefighters are our friends who keep us safe. The Trumbull Center fire truck was available for students to view and learn about the important tools used when combatting a fire hazard.

Good News to Share
The cast rehearsed for 10 weeks on this fully staged production and put on three amazing performances for sold-out audiences as well as some familiar faces!
Thank you to the Middlebrook families who came out to support these little performers as well as Mrs. Rydelek and Center Stage's Education Director, Miss Rodrigues!
Fathers Club Information
The Middlebrook Fathers Club serves as a forum for fathers to become more involved with their children and their school. As a sub-committee of the PTA, the mission of the Fathers Club is to provide services to the Middlebrook School Community through projects and school events. In addition, the Fathers Club provides families with opportunities to take part in exciting, fun activities held throughout the school year.
As an all-volunteer group, the Fathers Club is very flexible and appreciates of all contributions of time and/or services parents can give. Getting involved is easy, fun and a great way to be connected with the children and their school.
For more information on the org anization and how you can get involved,
