Winter Flower Fundraiser Unload & Pick-Up

Our Winter Flower fundraiser has officially wrapped up! If you have not already done so, please sign up for a pick-up time.

If you are willing and able to help unload the flowers when the truck arrives, please reach out to Melissa Davis to let her know.

Marching Band Banquet

Our annual marching band banquet was held this past Tuesday evening. Almost 400 students, families, and staff joined us to celebrate "I Am The Storm" and another amazing season.

Special thanks go out to Carrie Brewer-Thomas for securing a new venue, since we had outgrown the prior one; Matt and Christy Smith for the amazing centerpieces, decorations, keychains at each place setting, and photo backdrop; Karen Smith and April Keene for prepping the senior collages; and Brian and Amanda Groce for the awesome season recap video and the A/V assistance for the evening.

Disney Trip 2022

In case you missed it.... we received an email from Music Travel Consultants regarding our travel plans. Please make sure you log in to your account and make the required updates.

From Chris Forsythe with MTC:

As some of you may be aware, the decision has been made to switch from busing to flying for the March 2022 Orlando trip. This decision was made in conjunction with the directors as a response to the nationwide shortage of motor coach drivers and operators canceling on the books contracts mid-process. While frustrating, it is good to know this change several months ahead of the trip so that we are able to make a new plan moving forward. This is happening in many areas around the country, groups have been affected in many ways(some of you may have seen the struggles the Mustang, OK band went through getting to Grand Nationals two weeks ago for instance). Airfare has been secured and pricing/payment schedule are now updated, which you can view on your traveler dashboard. The primary trip dates are the same as before, March 21—24, still three hotel nights. We have adjusted the park distribution to best fit our flight schedule so we are still able to maximize the first and last days in the park. Because we are now limited on traveler count based on the seats we contracted to match the number of travelers on the trip, we are not able to accept new travelers on the trip at this time, but all existing travelers are accounted for.

As of today, there are NO vaccine requirements to fly domestically or enter the Walt Disney World Resort.

For travelers that purchased the additional spots for the private event, this event will now be a Backstage Breakfast inside Hollywood Studios the morning of 3/24(departure day), followed by being the first riders of the day on an attraction selected for the group(likely Toy Story Mania or Rock n’ Roller Coaster Fantasmic (the night show at Hollywood Studios) has finally been announced to re-open in 2022, though a restart date has not been posted, and the parks won’t book private dinner events ahead of the official show restart date being announced.

Should either of these updates cause you to adjust your plans to travel to Florida with the band, you can request a cancellation on your traveler dashboard, no further action is needed. Cancellations between today(11/22) and next Monday, November 29th at 5:00pm are eligible for a 100% refund due to the update in transportation. After 11/29, regular cancellation policies apply, cancellations up to 60 days prior are eligible for a refund LESS the initial deposit, cancellations inside of 60 days are 100% non-refundable.

Also, with the switch from busing to flying, we also now need all travelers to go in and edit their traveler profile to include gender and birth date, which is required for ticketing for the airline. Information on how to do that is attached to this email in a PDF…you’ll notice in the PDF there is a quirk about the edit feature and it displays a box beneath the confirmation that says “no longer editable”…this is a system error, but if you’ve got the green confirmation box above it, you are good to go. Please let us know any other issues you may encounter, thanks!
