BME Staff Update
October 29- November 2
Team Meadow -
One of the other principals shared the quote which is posted above, and I had to use it too. It's important for all of us to keep in mind.
We have another great week ahead of us as the school year continues to move so quickly. It's hard to believe that we already find ourselves on November's doorstep. The new month brings many exciting experiences, so please note the calendar and upcoming events.
Body Safety - Chaucie's Place - Due to recent legislation, body safety will be taught to all grade levels. This is a shift from previous implementation which occured in K, 2nd & 4th. Please note: A copy of the parent information letter and classroom schedule is located in this update. In addition, I will be sending a SchoolMessenger to all families which will include the parent letter, as well as, instructions should families prefer their child to opt-out of the body safety session. All children will participate unless as parent "opt-out" is given to the school. We will have copies of the opt out letters available in the office. If a family should request one, just pick one up and send home with the child, or have the family pick one up at the office. I will also provide an electronic copy to families via SchoolMessenger.
Veterans Day -
- Program/celebration will be November 12th @ 1:30 PM. A reception will follow.
- We have ordered wristbands for students that have permission to attend the reception with guests and/or ride home with their special guests. More info to come.
- I will also be providing you with family messaging to include in your weekly newsletters. This will help emphasize pre-registration and reception/dismissal procedures on that very special day. Once again, more info to come.
STEM/Robotics Schedule - Thanks to Kara and all the teams that shared information as we worked on schedules for robotics learning opportunities. The third grade team will be launching into this first round of lessons beginning next week on November 5th. It was interesting to see the approaches of the teams for co-teaching and collaborative opportunities.
Here's to a fantastic week.
Thankful for you,
Tom
