Amanda Dills

Writer, Composer, Educator, Technologist

Greetings!

My name is Amanda, and I live in Oklahoma City. I am the Instructional Technologist at Oklahoma City University, and I am currently teaching several classes as an adjunct for OCU, both online and face-to-face. (That's me in the plaid shirt on the left, with my husband Blake and our furbabies Maggie and Barry.)

Education and Background (Abridged)

Well, it's kind of a long story.... :)

My Bachelor's Degree is in Music Education, and I taught K-12 Vocal Music for 3 years out of college.

This was followed by a move to Omaha, NE, and work as a private music instructor (and a lot of community theatre), which all lead to my first Instructional Technology job at Bellevue University in Bellevue, NE.

Even though I was enjoying this new world of online learning that I had stumbled into, I knew that I wanted to continue my education in music, so in 2011, I began attending Oklahoma City University, and in 2013, I received my MM in Music Composition.

While I had never intended to stay in Oklahoma after completing my degree, by my final semester, two surprising things had happened: 1. The Instructional Technologist position at OCU opened. 2. I met, fell in love with, and got engaged to an Oklahoma Pharmacist (who is now my husband).

And the rest, as they say, is history.

Etc.

When I'm not working or teaching, I love spending time with my family and dogs. I love all things musical theatre and I'm currently choreographing Shrek the Musical for Norman High School. And, true to the background picture of this page, I do thoroughly enjoy photography and coffee! :)
