Lakeview Elementary - We Know Every Child by Name & by Need
September 29, 2017
It is crazy to think that October is here and that we are 1/6 of the way through our school year. This morning it was overwhelming to see the number of dads and families who came to kick-off our Watch DOGS/Appreciation program. A HUGE thank you Mrs. Lowe, Mr. Reddell, and our PTA board who worked so hard to get ready for the morning.

Learner Qualities in the "Real World"
We want to hear from you!
Here is a short video describing The Learning Pit.
We are always looking for ways we can bring in relevant lessons to our students. Each month we focus on a Lakeview Learner Quality - for October we are looking at the importance of The Learning Pit. If you "get stuck and problem solve" in your everyday lives or in your careers, please click HERE and enter a description of how you persist and grow why those skills are important. We will share your replies with our teachers so they can in turn share them with our students. Please include your name and your profession in your email. We can't wait to read them!

Ultimate Book Challenge - Formally Battle of the Books
My name is Cailen Stuebe, and I am a second grade teacher and Lakeview’s UIL Campus Coordinator! I am thrilled to be a part of such an amazing opportunity for our students. UIL is the University Interscholastic League, a battle of the wits and minds in different subject areas. Before we get students involved, I need you! This year, we are asking parents who have a special interest or skill in the events below to coach a team for UIL! Practices will be held at school, with a teacher sponsor, and all materials will be provided for you.
If you are interested in coaching a team, please complete this google form by Wednesday, October 4 at 3:30 PM. Here are a list of the events that are linked to the UIL website if you would like more information about the event, that our awesome students can compete in!
You must have a current 2017-2018 background check before you complete the form.

Facebook and Social Media
1. Think before you post, your words have power.
2.Do not post pictures or information of children who are not yours. Privacy is important so do not post pictures or information about other students without parent permission.
3. If you have a question regarding events or information regarding Lakeview, your best bet is to always email your child's teacher or call the front office.
4. If you are unhappy with a situation or would like to share a concern, please always email your child's teacher or contact our front office.
5. Finally, stay positive. No one benefits when community members disagree on line.
