REFLECTIONS FROM YOUR PTSA
A LOOK BACK:
- Thank you to all who participated in our Mother Son night. We had approximately 500 attendees having fun at the various game stations, enjoying snacks and running around the gym. We are very thankful to be able to host such a special night! Much appreciation to our wonderful volunteers who make these events possible.
- The Coupon Book sale has ended. If you have not returned your order forms or unsold sample books, please do so ASAP. A reminder will be sent home soon. We are currently distributing the Rochester books to the students and we are ordering the out-of-town books. Thank you for your support & patience!
LOOKING AHEAD:
- Our BJ's Wholesale Club Membership drive has begun. Forms have been sent home with the students. For every new or renewed BJ's membership, our PTSA receives $5. It's an easy way to support our organization. See below for details.
- Festivus at the PES is coming up in December. This is an opportunity for our K-5 students to pick out a free gift for somebody special. Volunteers are needed. Please see below for information.
- As always, we encourage you and your family members to join and/or renew your PTSA membership. It's simple to do, only $5 per person annually and membership does NOT mean you must volunteer!
In this season of thanks, we would like to thank each and every one of you for your involvement in our schools & community. No good deed is too small!
We wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving.

BJ's Membership Drive
November is our PTSA-sponsored Fall BJs Wholesale Club Membership drive/fundraiser. We have partnered with BJs to offer Canandaigua School District families a discounted BJs membership. Families who sign up for a new membership or renew an existing membership through this offer help support PTSA as BJs donates $5 per membership back to PTSA.
This year's offer is a 13-month membership for $37.63, (Rewards membership $80.63) plus a second card for an additional household member. In comparison, a regular BJs membership is $50 for 12 months. This offer has a limited enrollment period from Nov 4-18, 2016. Please print off the application, fill it in, enclose your payment to BJs and return it to the PTSA mailbox in any building by Nov 18.
New members will receive their temporary membership cards immediately to take to BJs to have new cards processed. Renewing members will not receive new cards, their 13 months will be added to the end of their existing membership. All applications will be processed and active before end of November.
Don't know when your membership expires? Check the bottom of your BJs sales receipt. To help you plan, our spring BJs drive will be in May. Contact canandaiguaPTSA@gmail.com with questions.

Community Reading Partnership
Help spread literacy in our community! A Volunteer Bookshelf Supervisor is needed by the Community Reading Partnership to oversee “Guardian” volunteers who stock 15 to 20 active Little Red Bookshelves in the Canandaigua area with free books.
This person should be reasonably familiar with children’s books and able to oversee the processing of books donated at locations in Canandaigua schools. The Bookshelf Supervisor sits on the Community Reading Partnership Board which meets monthly at the library.
To express interest, contact CRP President Mary Ferris, c/o Wood Library, 134 North Main St. Canandaigua, NY 14424 or email CRP at communityreadingpart@gmail.com
