Teacher Appreciation Week

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.

Proverbs 22:6

Hello NCCS families! We are so very blessed to have a wonderful group of people that we rely on to train up our children. They share our values, our ethics and our Biblical worldview and are willing to devote their time and energy investing in the lives of our most precious gifts, our kids.

Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up May 8-12 (NEW DATES) giving us, as parents, the opportunity to celebrate the teachers who pour into our kids each day by giving them a little bit of bucket filling love every day of that week.

Please consider donating to help provide some gifts and treats for our amazing teachers at NCCS! The link to contribute is here, and feel free to reach out to us if you have questions or want to help with this effort.

Thank you,

A Day of Service to our Community

North Clackamas Christian School Serve Day

On Thursday, May 25, the whole school will participate in a morning of service. The elementary students and teachers will remain on campus, and the secondary students and teachers will go out into the community. This will be a rewarding day of being the hands and feet of Jesus!

Here is how you can partner with us to make this a successful day:

  • Look for a permission slip to come soon for secondary students.

  • We will need some additional adults to help out! If you would like to participate on that day and/or provide supplies for a few of the projects, please fill out this NCCS Serve Day Volunteer/Give form. Please be aware that interested adults must complete a volunteer application two weeks before the event, if not already done this school year.

Questions? Please email Carmen Moore or McKenzie Falotico.

School Safety Meeting

On Tuesday, May 9, at 7 pm, there will be a School Safety Meeting for interested parents to participate in with administration, board, and security and law enforcement professionals. Come hear about measures in place at the school, ask questions, offer ideas, consider volunteering, and connect with the school community.

Family Game Night and End of Year Celebration

Let's get our school community together as we finish the school year! This event is Monday, May 15, in the gym, 6:30-8:30 pm. This will be a time for celebration, voting for new board members, refreshments, and games for the family! All ages are welcome. Please come and participate for as much of the evening as you can. Bring your favorite games to share.

High School Spring Dance May 13

The Sadie Hawkins dance is happening for all high school students on the 13th of May. It is a semi-final formal event with a black light beach theme. Tickets went on sale on the 25th of April for $15 and must be purchased by the 10th of May. The event takes place at the Warner Grange in Canby. Question should be directed to Mrs. Hardy.

It's Time for ASB Elections

As this year comes to a close, we are already looking forward to next year. ASB is our student government for Junior High and High School students. Check out the link for the timeline, expectations, and Applications . Applications must be completed in order to be considered for the ballot, to serve as an officer or representative, and are available in paper form from Mrs. Hardy or the front office. We look forward to having many students participate in serving our student body through this leadership opportunity.

Update: Campus Improvement Project

During Spring Break there was major renovation work done in the gym breezeway and music building at the school, this included replacing siding, gutters, windows, lighting and paint, as well as installation of new secure entry doors at the gym breezeway and HVAC in the music room!

Thanks to the incredible donations brought in through the auction, the $60,000 raised will go toward meeting our goal of $100,000 to finish the remodeling of the last building. This work is scheduled to be done after the school year, the end of June. We would appreciate additional support to meet this fund need. If you are able to give to the Campus Improvement Project, please use the QR code below, or checks/cash are also accepted through our office. We also welcome any efforts to share this need with others in your circle of influence. Questions or inquiries should be directed to Sherri James.

Thank you to those who have already given to this significant project and in support of our school. You are making a difference to the future of NCCS and its mission!

Tuition Plans for 2023-24

Greetings from the Business Office! We will be finalizing payment plans for the 2023-2024 school year in the next couple of weeks. Please note that if you have chosen Plan 3 or Plan 4, there is a $55 set up fee for these monthly payment plans. This one time fee will be charged at the time your payment plan is set up so expect to see this charge. Also, the payment plan will be set up according to how you re/enrolled. This sets up billing for tuition and incidentals for the 2023-2024 school year. If you'd like charges set up differently (i.e. tuition split between customers or one customer pays tuition and a different one pays incidentals) please contact the Business Office Manager, Susan Van Sickle at susan_vansickle@ncchristianschool.com, as soon as possible to discuss. Thanks for your continued partnership.

Pastries with Parents: E.N.G.A.G.E.D. - Seven Steps to Raising Christ Centered Kids in a Conventional World

Each month, administration will host a time of community fellowship for parents of children PreK-12th grade. This will be a time of prayer, sharing, learning, and connection, along with some tasty pastries served.

Join us Thursday, May 4 at 8:15-9am, for the next Pastries with Parents, with a focus on Raising E.N.G.A.G.E.D. Kids- A series by Chris Browne (RightNow Media). This will be the final time for us to meet this year. We will conclude with the video in the same series entitled "On Earth as it is in Heaven; Passing the Baton to the Next Generation" which talks about how we can prepare our children for life beyond the wall of our homes and Christian school. Hope to see you there! Check in at the office and you will be directed to the meeting location.

Notes from the April session are below for those who could not attend.

2022-23 School Verse Passage

Ephesians 6:13-17 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
