The Magic of Twinkle Lights
When it comes to hanging Christmas lights, I tend to select clear twinkle lights. The clear lights seem to create the calming ambiance I crave this time of year, and honestly, if I had my way, I'd leave them up the entire winter.
A strand of clear lights also possesses a magical element. By simply wrapping a strand of these lights around a leafless branch, the ordinary becomes extraordinary. In many ways, I've always equated my purpose as an effective educator much in the same way. In a nutshell, I simply need to enlighten the lives of the children that walk into my classroom so that they leave as the extraordinary individuals they were created to be.
Do you see the extraordinary in your children? Trust me, it's there. A little nurturing mixed with quality time and genuine care are the simple ingredients you need as a parent to cultivate the little extra your child needs to stand out. So, when life becomes chaotic in the next few weeks– and you know it will– take a moment to enjoy the lights and think about how you can apply their magic in your life and those you have been called to parent.
May the joy of the season be with you today and all month long!
