Stanley Middle School
Week of April 17
EOG Proctors Needed
Please complete this Google Form if you are able to help proctor EOG tests on May 11, 16 and 18. You can sign up for as many days as you can help. You will be sent an email with confirmation dates and a video to watch prior to proctoring.
Proctoring responsibilities include: roving between 1-3 classrooms of testing students, notifying the test administrator in the room is anything looks concerning with a student (seems to be not feeling well, student fallen asleep, student experiencing issue with their chromebook, student needing additional testing supplies ~ paper, pencil, etc.), walking students to the restroom, etc. Comfortable shoes are the best for testing days.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Chromebooks
Beginning the first week of May, teachers will begin collecting chromebooks and chargers to remain at school for the rest of the school year. This will enable us to make sure all students have their fully charged device at school on testing days.
SUMMER CAMP OPTIONS
All middle school students have the option to attend one of several camps this summer from June 12-22. Follow this link to see which camp might best meet your student's needs. Rising Freshman need to look under 'High School Camps' to see their option.
Follow this link and sign up soon to secure your spot.
2023-2024 Course Selection
We will be sending home course selection cards with all 6/7 grade students during the last week of April/first week of May. We will provide detailed information when these cards come home with students. Rising 6th graders will have these cards send to their elementary schools as well.

Cell Phone/Wireless Devices Policy Reminder
Therefore, the expectation is that if parents allow students to bring phones to school that they remain in their bookbag, OFF and AWAY, from the time they arrive at school until they leave at the end of the day. Students with communicati9on devices on watches are not to use communication devices during the school day.
See Rule 18 in the GCS Code of Conduct for full policy.

Vapes
We have seen an increase of students attempting to bring vapes to school. As a reminder these are not allowed at school and they are also illegal for middle school students to have in their possession. Please remind your students as to why this is an unsafe and unhealthy habit to form.
