Parent Volunteers for Library Textbook Return

Library could use your help!

It is that time of year again. Between 5/20-6/5, we plan on collecting over 20,000 textbooks from the students of Santiago High School. Additionally, from 7/29-8/5, we will be checking those textbooks back out to students. Without the help of volunteers, the process would be difficult to manage. We are sending out our SOS in the form of an online schedule (

If any of you would be so kind as to lend a hand during the scheduled dates, we would be very thankful. You must be an adult to run the computer. Bring a friend. They do not have to have a student at SHS.

Here's how it works:

1) Click this link to see our Sign-Up on:

2) Review the options listed and choose the spot(s) you like.

Pick as many times as you want! More than one day if possible. We will be having 5 maybe 6 stations if we can staff it. New scanners are here. We’re having a new set up this year to hopefully make it go faster.

If you have any questions at all, please contact me at 951-739-5615

Note: VolunteerSpot does not share your email address with anyone. If you prefer not to use your email address, please contact me and I can sign you up manually.

Thank you Volunteers! You’re the best!

Picking up a student during school hours? Park off of Foothill

In order to have enough space for our staff parking lot, we are asking parents to park on the Foothill drop off area when picking up your child, dropping something off, or if you have a scheduled meeting on campus. Curbs have recently been painted white and it is no longer a red zone. Thank you for helping our security and free up space for our staff lot.

Thank you to the nearly 400 parents who completed our 1st semester BE A SHARK survey in December. We are using the results of the parent, staff, and student surveys to guide us as we continue to work to shape the positive culture here at Santiago.

Be on the lookout for another end of semester survey in May!

As always, feel free to contact the BE A SHARK team at

We are rewarding positive BE A SHARK behaviors - be sure to look for these same qualities from your students at home and let your student know you appreciate it when they:

S - Show Responsibility
H - Have Integrity
A - Achieve
R - Respect
K - Know yourself

At the end of the first quarter, over 3500 students have received Shark Bytes for displaying BE A SHARK behaviors. Shark Bytes were redeemed at the Shark Shop this week for free ice cream, a free tardy pass, a Shark lanyard, and even a free PROM ticket. Everyday, everywhere, we want students to continue to act out the BE A SHARK values. Continue to show up on time to class and be prepared to work - that's just one behavior that we expect from all Sharks. Keep it up!
