LETTER FROM DR. WALDRIP
Dear PTA Members,
It’s been a busy month! Hallways are bustling, marching bands are practicing and
kindergartners are learning how to open their milk. In every classroom, students are engaging and learning thanks to a devoted community of teachers, staff, and volunteers that support them.
As PTA members, you know the importance of being involved with your campus and have seen successes big and small. You are informed about what’s happening at your school and understand that successes are not always measurable.
This month, the Texas Education Agency rated each one of our campuses and the District with a letter grade. Frisco ISD is the largest school district in North Texas to receive an ‘A’ rating and all campuses received either an ‘A’ or ‘B’ as their overall rating. In fact, out of the largest districts in Texas, we scored the highest rating in the bunch.
Clearly, the hard work of our teachers, staff and parents has been captured in TEA’s review of our STAAR/EOC data, graduation rates, and college, career, and military readiness outcomes.
While we appreciate TEA’s attempt to quantify accountability, I want to make sure we are
accountable to our staff, students and community in a way that is meaningful. Each campus has its own challenges and set of goals that it’s working toward and we want to be transparent about how we are working to evolve and meet the needs of our students.
This year, each campus created a Future-Ready Campus Profile that can be found on the
homepage of your campus website. You will find the District and campus ratings there, but,
more importantly, you will also find a list of accomplishments, key data points and highlights that are simply unquantifiable on standardized assessments. Because our campuses and district, like your children, are much more than a letter grade.
The campus Future-Ready Profile also includes a set of questions, goals or steps rooted in the Future-Ready Learner Profile that will be used to guide the coming school year as they plan continual improvement to benefit students. Next year, this profile will evolve as the campuses hope to increase transparent accountability in a way that matters most to each unique campus community.
This is all to say that accountability to you, our PTA community, is important. Each campus looks forward to collaborating with you to meet community and campus goals and I am incredibly thankful for your membership in the PTA. Together we all work for the benefit of our children and for that I am grateful.

LETTER FROM COUNCIL PRESIDENT
Welcome to the 2022-2023 School Year!
We are so excited to be back at school in a much more normal state! We know that getting all the things that are required to start a school year has been keeping you so busy! We can’t wait to see all the fun things that you will accomplish this year.
One of our goals every year is to communicate the mission and goals of PTA. We are a membership-based organization that advocates for children. Your membership matters. It is a voice for YOUR child! Any child under the age of 18 does not get a vote on public education, but you do! We are quickly approaching another legislative year. Texas PTA is ready to speak on your behalf, advocating for ALL kids in Texas. We were very successful at the last legislative session on many issues because we had the voice of over 500,000 members behind us. Our state president and president-elect were asked to testify before many Senate and House panels and we expect they will do so again in the upcoming session. This is why becoming a PTA member is so very important. The more members, the louder our voice! If you have not joined your local PTA, please consider joining one or better yet, your feeder pattern! We need your voice too, even if you don’t have kids still in a local school. We want EVERY CHILD’S POTENTIAL TO BECOME A REALITY! Our kids are our future leaders, employees and business owners and they deserve a voice. Join a PTA because Membership Matters and it equals Advocacy!
At the district level, the Council of PTAs is working with the district to offer programs that will support and educate you on hot topics. Stay tuned for more information on those events. Once again Council will launch our “i’m inclusive” shirts that promote a message of inclusion and acceptance throughout our district. Inclusion empowers both our diverse and typical learners. Only through the life lesson of inclusion can ALL of our students reach their full potential. Please consider purchasing one of these shirts. The proceeds will go toward providing district level programs and the 18 scholarships that we offer our graduating seniors. Nine of those scholarships are awarded to students with a 504 or an IEP. With your help, we hope to offer more scholarships every year.
I hope for each one of your families, a successful school year! Please stay healthy and well!
Yours truly,
Terri Palmer
