Senior News
1. Senior Parking Lot Painting will take place from noon-5pm on Sunday September 11th. Remember to bring your paint and supplies with you. You will not be able to access the school on those days!
2. HCCF scholarship recipient
The Hendricks County Community Foundation administers over 25 scholarship funds, as well as the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program for our county. Since 1996, the Community Foundation has awarded nearly 500 scholarships worth over $3.7 million. These scholarships are funded by donors who believe in higher education and supporting Hendricks County high school seniors in degree attainment.
Application Process and Requirements
HCCF scholarship applications are completed online. Applications for the Class of 2023 are live now and are due at 3pm on September 14, 2022.
The following requirements must be met to complete the application process in the future:
- Applicant must be a Hendricks County resident.*
- Applicant provides contact information, education, activities, employment and a personal statement
- Applicant provides one letter of recommendation submitted online
- Applicant completes the application online truthfully and in its entirety by the deadline
*For 2023, the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program is open to non-Hendricks County residents IF they both 1) attend school in Hendricks County AND 2) are not eligible for the Lilly Scholarship in their home county because they attend school in Hendricks County.
Lilly Interviews will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022. At this time, we anticipate interviews will be held in-person. The date is firm and no exceptions will be made to adjust the date.

3. The Wa-Pe-Ke-Way Chapter of the DAR is asking each Hendricks County High School
to name their Good Citizen.The student selected as the school’s DAR Good Citizen
must have the following qualities:
· Dependability (truthfulness, honesty, punctuality, etc.)
· Service (cooperation, helpfulness, responsibility, etc.)
· Leadership (personality, self-control, initiative, etc.)
· Patriotism (unselfish loyalty to American ideals)
Each school DAR Good Citizen receives a DAR Good Citizens pin, certificate, and
wallet recognition card. This student is then eligible, if they wish, to enter the DAR Good
Citizens Scholarship Contest.
Each school may decide how they wish to determine their Good Citizen. This is
open to males as well as females.
The Scholarship portion includes a Student information sheet including activities, a
grade transcript, two letters of recommendation and a timed essay. Information on this
will be sent to the school around October 1. The materials will need to be returned to
me by November 1. The entries are then judged by a panel of non-DAR members. The
local winner will receive $500.00 from our chapter and advance to State Judging.
Regional and National winners receive further scholarships.

Other Information
Any students who are in need of the required immunizations per state guidelines need to obtain them before the deadline of September 16th. If you are not able to obtain the immunizations prior to the deadline due to scheduling issues with your healthcare provider, please provide documentation from the provider's office with the upcoming scheduled date. If you need an exemption form, please contact our nurse Mrs. Gibbs.
Please send immunization or scheduling documentation to Mrs. Gibbs via email (gibbslo@hendricks.k12.in.us) or fax 317-994-5106. If documentation of either the immunizations or scheduled date to receive the immunizations is not received by September 16, 2022, your student will not be allowed to attend school until the proper documentation is received.
Picture Retakes will be September 15th.

Book Rental Information
The 2022-23 Textbook Rental amounts are now finalized. Login into your Harmony account to find the amount you owe.
North West Hendricks School Corporation Textbook Rental Policy: All Book Rental accounts are expected to be paid in FULL by October 31st, unless you have a signed payment plan form on file. Anyone who has not made a payment by October 31st will be sent to the collection agency where further action will be taken.
***Also, seniors are held accountable for ALL miscellaneous bills that have accrued over the last 4 years due to Tri-West High School. This includes but not limited to book rental, Athletic fees, and chrome book claims. A student will not be permitted to participate in the graduation ceremony with any bills outstanding.

All applications need to be completed by September 20, 2022 to ensure approval and removal of those fees from your account!
****NOTE: State Textbook Assistance does NOT cover AP Art Exam Fees, AP Social Studies Exam Fees, Area 31 program fees, Indiana University Tuition or books needed, or the Senior Graduation Material Fee. You will be responsible for paying these fees or your student will not be allowed to participate in any Graduation activities.

Construction News
Progress is happening
The Construction project progress is continuing. There has been significant progress with the Baseball / Softball complex. The Multi Purpose building located on the North End of State Bank Stadium will be completed hopefully by Fall Break.
