Health Screening Reminder/Update...
We certainly realize how tedious it must be to fill out the health screening form each day; however, ALL students must submit the online health screening before entering the school campus each day for our students and staff's safety!
PLEASE NOTE...only students who are reporting on campus each week must complete the form daily. If you are experiencing technical difficulties or log in issues, please contact our technology director, Mr. Mukesh Gupta at 609-499-4620 ext 4227.
REMINDER...This form is available 6:00 p.m. prior to the school day. If the form is not completed, your child should not report to the school building. The student form is located in the Genesis Parent Portal at (https://parents.genesisedu.com/florence).
TIP: Set an alarm reminder on your phone so you remember to do it each day!
Don't forget your breakfast & lunch...
The USDA has extended the District's ability to distribute FREE MEALS TO ALL FLORENCE SCHOOL DISTRICT STUDENTS through December 31, 2020 "or until the funds run out." Because this distribution will end by December 31, families are encouraged to apply now for Free and Reduced Price Meals for the 2020-2021 school year.
If you would like your child(ren) to receive daily breakfast & lunch you MUST sign up in advance by clicking on the "Virtual Breakfast/Lunch" tab on the school district website www.florence.k12.nj.us. THIS FORM MUST BE FILLED OUT EACH WEEK IF YOUR CHILD IS TO RECEIVE BREAKFAST/LUNCH!

It's Ok to Not Be Ok...Mental Health Awareness Matters!
Both children & adults need firsthand tools to care for their mental health in order to feel good emotionally and physically and to be able to cope with challenges. Being mentally healthy helps us to better manage our lives!
Here are some ways to recognize positive signs of mental health:
- Positive affect or emotional state. (Feeling happy and/or content) Does the person smile during some parts of the day and feel happy?
- Positive psychological and social function. Does the person enjoy fulfilling relationships with other? Have at least 1-2 friends? Feel good about him or herself?
- Engaging in productive activities. Does the person perform needed everyday tasks such as schoolwork (able to concentrate and do work?) and activities of daily living (takes care of appearance, sleeping OK)? Does the person engage in a balance of school/work, play/leisure, and rest/sleep activities?
- Coping with life stressors and demonstrating resilience when challenged. Does the person bounce back following a challenge and learn from the experience? Has the person learned strategies for maintaining mental health (e.g. engaging in enjoyable activities, relaxation strategies, exercise, healthy diet, adequate sleep).
As an active partner in the mental health of all children and youth, the FTSD has a developed a detailed directory of resources, which can be found at https://www.florence.k12.nj.us/parent-information/mental-health.
Congratulations Roebling Elementary!
Roebling Elementary School was officially recognized as a School of Character by Character.org and The NJ Alliance for Social, Emotional, and Character Development as a result of our efforts to build character and promote social emotional well being school wide. This is an important distinction and one that we are proud to receive. A special thanks to our teachers, parents, students, and community for their efforts both in and outside the classroom and a special shout out to Roebling School's Strive for Five Team (Beth Hemmons, Erin Muchowski, Melissa Reuter, Sara Trombly, Danielle Yansick, and Barb Fazekas) and the PTA who have been integral in helping develop and promote a positive school culture that continues to grow and develop.
