Mark's Monday Morning Memo
April 23, 2018
Bistro Royale
Thank you to Amy Kodet and Melissa Gausmann for an amazing Bistro Royale last Thursday morning during the late start professional development time. Besides creating a wonderful atmosphere with lighting, music, and food, staff members were exposed to resources in the new professional library. This was a great way to come together and learn about resources to improve our professional practices. Thank you!
Elementary Parent Communication Committee
Chantele and I are representing Gatewood on a district committee to review current practices around conferences and how we communicate with families. We will bring information back to share with Gatewood staff and gather your input and feedback as we participate in this process.
Spring Family Fun Night
Thank you for volunteering to help out at this event this Thursday or by helping to set up the book fair and other activities. Parents and students love seeing Gatewood staff members at after-school events and activities. Thank you!
Interviews
I've been busy the past few weeks serving on interview teams for our nurse and special education teachers. I know I'll be asked to participate in interviews for our new EL teacher soon. Districts are in intense competition for some of these staff positions so it's great that Hopkins is out front working to fill these positions now.
Environmental Education Planning
Thank you to Jeremy Hahn, Kim Hysjulien, Mr. Ike, Kay McCarthy, and Jon Smart for gathering and planning around environmental education concepts and ideas last Thursday afternoon. They each have some areas and tasks they are following up with and we will look for time at an upcoming staff meeting where they can share their ideas and plans. Thank you for moving this forward.
