November 2022

A Note from the FMS Administrative Team

Dear FMS Families,

October certainly flew by quickly for our FMS students! They have been busy, as the second quarter is now upon us. Our classrooms are full of learning and engagement, and many of our students are actively participating in our clubs, intramurals, and sports. We could not be more proud of our eagles, as they are immersing themselves in our FMS community both during and after the academic day.

We also want to take a moment to thank all of our families. It was a wonderful experience to have so many parents/guardians participate in parent/teachers conferences. As a staff, we know how important the partnership between home and school can be when it comes to ensuring student success. We feel grateful for your support and involvement, as we work together on behalf of our FMS eagles!

Although November is a relatively short month in regard to student attendance days, there is much on the horizon. We are especially looking forward to our first Veterans Day assembly on November 11 and to the start of both our eighth grade girls' and boys' basketball seasons. We hope to see many of you at our games, as we support not only our basketball players, but also our cheer and dance teams, as well! It's going to be a great month at FMS!

Did you know that when you shop on Amazon, it's easy for Frontier to get a small percentage from your purchase? All you have to do is shop through AmazonSmile instead of Amazon.
Once you've set up your account, your shopping experience will be identical. The only difference is that when you shop on AmazonSmile, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate .5% of the purchase price of eligible products to the charitable organization of your choice. Frontier Middle School PTSA would be grateful to be the charity you choose. Go to to get started. Once you've set this up, it's easy to set up your Amazon app
to link to AmazonSmile as well.

FMS Needs Your Help!

We critically need substitute teachers to help support our FMS staff, and we're asking for your help! Step into our classrooms as your schedule allows as a FMS sub. Subbing gives you the opportunity to get involved at FMS at your convenience! And, as an added bonus, you can see what your child is up to each day! We're not looking for a long-term or daily commitment, but rather help as you are available. Learn more and apply today.

Apply now for our various full-time and substitute custodial opportunities in FMS. We need your help keeping our building clean and ready for learning! Team members are provided with uniforms (5 sets) and a $75 annual shoe reimbursement. Learn more and take advantage of our newly increased custodian pay. Learn more and apply today.

Child Nutrition

Help nourish our FMS children with breakfast and lunch so they can focus on learning! Our Child Nutrition staff have created a great place to work with convenient hours and face time with the FMS students. Don't want a full-time commitment? Child Nutrition has substitute positions available as well. Learn more and apply today.

Be Kind Week - November 14-18

We are excited to present Frontier Middle School's first-ever Be Kind Week! We hope you will encourage your students to participate in spirit days and other activities we have planned for the week. Each day, students will have a chance to engage in opportunities that promote the idea of being kind to family, friends, teachers, and themselves. We are looking forward to celebrating and promoting kindness at FMS!

Nurse's Corner

We’ve heard some rumblings (and even seen some students participating) in the trending social media One Chip Challenge. It’s a challenge where students eat a potentially dangerously spicy chip. There have been allergic reactions and other negative side effects resulting from the challenge including difficulty breathing and headaches. Please talk to your child about the dangers of participating in social media trends. Thank you for your support in keeping our children healthy and safe!

Canvas Parent Guide

Many families have requested information regarding the ways in which to access Canvas, which is the learning platform that is utilized throughout the secondary level in the WSD. Access to the platform will allow families to see grades and other important information that is pertinent to student success within each class. Click here to access the guide.
