A National Merit Scholar, she is also a member of the National BETA Club, National Honor Society, and National German Honor Society.

She is a member of Wilson’s Varsity Girls’ Tennis Team and has been the captain of the team for the past 3 years. She won a bronze medal in the girls’ doubles division at the 2016 International Children’s Games in Taiwan and also competed in the 2019 North-South All Star Girls Tennis Classic.
As an avid language learner, Rebecca received a bronze medal in the United States Round of the International German Olympiad and was also the recipient of the prestigious AATG/PAD travel award, an all-expense paid study trip to Germany. Advocating for cultural mindset learning, she was a speaker at the 2018 TEDxEvansStreet conference.
In her free time, Rebecca volunteers at the Florence Tennis Center as a certified assistant coach and also volunteers in the community as a member of the Florence County Teen Council. She will be on a pre-medical track with a German minor at Duke University in the fall.
Isabella Ouyang, Salutatorian, Wilson High School
Isabella Ouyang is the salutatorian and a graduate of the IB Diploma Programme at Wilson High School. She is an active leader and member of many organizations in both Wilson and the larger Florence community.
Isabella has served as Captain of Wilson’s varsity swim team and President of the Spanish National Honor Society. She is also as a member of the National Honor Society, mock trial team, and math team, and is a longtime volunteer at MUSC Florence. She is an established violinist in the Florence Symphony, Florence Youth Symphony, and Fleur-de-Lis Strings Orchestras, a six-time All-State violinist, and has performed at the world-renowned Carnegie Hall and Sydney Opera House.
She is a National Merit Scholarship finalist, Coca Cola Scholarship semi-finalist, and recipient of the Smith College Book Award and the GE STAR and SC State Fair scholarships, among others.
Isabella is the daughter of Amy Ouyang and the late Dr. Wen-Ting Ouyang and has two older sisters, Olivia and Emily, both of whom are proud Wilson alumni now working at the Harvard Medical School-affiliated Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and studying as a President’s List-honored rising senior at the University of South Carolina, respectively.
After much debate amongst Duke University, the University of South Carolina Honors College, and Clemson Honors College, she has decided to attend UofSC Honors College as one of the select few chosen to participate in the rigorous Gamecock Pharmacy Assurance program as a Doctor of Pharmacy candidate.
The Plan for Graduation Ceremonies in Case of Rain
In case of a rain delay, the ceremony will start no later than 11:30 am. However, if it is raining and if the forecast dictates rain throughout the entire morning, the staff will make the call to cancel the ceremony for the scheduled date, and it will be rescheduled to the first available make-up date, either June 1st, 2nd, or 3rd.
All announcements about rain delay or cancellation will be communicated as soon as possible and will be announced at the ceremony, sent through the F1S app, and posted on social media. If the ceremony is cancelled and moved to a make-up date, guests must use the same ticket that was issued for admission to the ceremony and are asked not to discard the ticket if the initial ceremony is cancelled.
