Titan A+ Program
The A+ Program at Lee’s Summit West strives to ensure that students are prepared for and successful in life beyond high school. The A+ Program works to provide students with continuous and progressive career information throughout the students’ years at Lee’s Summit West. It also focuses on ensuring that students have course offerings that prepare them for their paths after high school. And finally, the A+ Program helps to make courses rigorous and relevant to the world outside the classroom.
Graduates of designated A+ schools who successfully complete the requirements of the A+ Program may be eligible to receive reimbursement for the cost of tuition and general fees while attending a Missouri public community college or vocational/technical school on a full-time basis. The A+ Program may provide these educational incentives provided state funds are appropriated by the legislature. The PLUS stands for financial incentives designed to aid students who wish to continue their education beyond high school and prepare for success!
Please contact A+ Coordinator Veronica Scott at: veronica.scott@lsr7.net or 816-986-4056. You can also contact Janice McCunniff, A+ Secretary at janice.mccunniff@lsr7.net or 816-986-4057.

Counseling Center Spotlight!
Hello,
My name is Carrie Guittar and this is my first year working at Lee's Summit West High School; I am very happy to be a Titan! I work in the counseling center as the school registrar. I get to help students, parents and staff with record related inquires. Before I came to work at West I worked for the government for ten years in IT. I worked on the payroll systems for the United States Marines. After years of sitting in a cubicle working on data I was ready for a change. I taught preschool while earning my degree and decided I would love to use my IT degree in an educational setting. I really enjoy getting to know the students and learning what their passions are for their futures. It is very exciting to listen to a senior come into my office for a copy of their transcript and hear the plans they are making once they graduate from West.
I am married and have two sons. My oldest son earned his education degree at Northwest Missouri State and is currently working on a film and media degree at UMKC. My youngest son is in 6th grade and will be a Titan in three years!
It has been a joy joining Lee's Summit West and I am thankful to everyone for making me feel so welcome. Not a lot of people can say they truly enjoy what they do for a living and I count myself lucky that I can.
