AEHS Weekly Newsletter
December 10, 2023
Good evening, Titans.
Happy Sunday! Last week I failed to share that as a community, this month we celebrate Hanukkah, Christmas, and Kwanza. This year we have been make a concerted effort to acknowledge and celebrate all members of our community. I apologize for not sharing this last week and want to wish a Happy Hanukkah to all who celebrate.
Please be reminded that MP2 Interims are due tomorrow, December 11. As always, you want to ensure your students do not have grades lower than a C, as Ds and Es can lead to students failing a course. If you have questions or concerns about your students' grade please reach out their teachers to clear up any confusion. Also, last week the MCPS Board of Education approved the 2024–2025 school year calendar, with input from you and the MCPS community. You can read more below in 'Things You Need to Know.'
Finally, be on the lookout this week for registration information for SY24-25, as students will be registering for classes on Thursday, December 20, during 7th period.
Best,
Mark Brown, Jr.
Principal

TechneCS Guest Speaker Program (REPEAT)
Aanshi and Alyssa are high school students who are currently attending Poolesville High School. They are the founders of TechneCS, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping middle and high school students explore the field of computer science and empowering them to use that information to create projects that have a positive impact on their community.
In December, TechneCS is hosting a guest speaker program. This will be a valuable opportunity to connect with industry professionals in a variety of fields and topics within computer science. Attendees will get the chance to discover cutting-edge technologies, and learn to navigate education and career in this space.
The program aims to inspire creativity, critical thinking, and innovation by exposing students to the forefront of technological advancements. By participating in the TechneCS Guest Speaker Program, students will not only gain exposure to the latest trends in computer science but also be empowered to channel that knowledge into impactful projects and real-world applications.
To register or learn more about the TechneCS Guest Speaker Program, please visit our website at technecs.org. If you have any questions or require further information, feel free to contact us at technecs101@gmail.com.
