Halloween News...
We are looking forward to classroom celebrations. All Halloween activities will take place on Tuesday, October 31st. We encourage parents to attend classroom parties. If you plan to visit your child's classroom, please be sure to have your background check completed by Thursday, October 26th.
We are excited to be holding our second annual staff Halloween costume contest and student parade through downtown Brooklyn. We would love parent support for both of these events. We will begin the assembly at 1:15 pm. Following the assembly, we will begin the parade leaving CUES at 1:30 pm. Students will parade around the village square greeting the community. The Columbia Police and Fire Department will assist us with crossing the streets.
Students are invited to wear costumes for the parade and party. Please note the following:
- Students may not wear costumes, make-up or masks with blood or gore.
- Masks are permitted. Please ensure masks do not obstruct student's vision.
- Students may not bring any type of weapon with their costume.
- Students will be responsible for any accessories they bring with their costume.
BACKGROUND CHECK!
Are you planning on attending your child’s Halloween Party? You must have a background check completed every year to attend field trips, class parties, etc! Forms are available in all district buildings.
TRUNK OR TREAT
The Columbia School District is hosting the second annual Trunk or Treat for the community. We hope to bring together families from our district to enjoy this event. Trunk or Treat is being held in the Columbia Central High School parking lot area on Sunday, October 29th, 2017 from 3:30-5:30 pm.
School groups, businesses, and other organizations are invited to participate by hosting a trunk. There is no cost for sponsoring a trunk. We ask that you provide your own candy. CUES will be hosting a trunk and look forward to enjoying the event with our community.
Please help by spreading the word to your churches, friends and business owners. The goal is to have 40 or more trunks for the event. Please contact Monika Cook by calling the district office @ 592-6641, or by emailing Monika.Cook@myeagles.org if your organization would like to participate.
Let's make this a great community event!
