AP TESTING:
If you are a student at TWHS Main campus or freshman campus and are taking an AP class this school year (either full year or a semester class) please make sure you have done the following:
- First—enroll in your AP course online at myap.collegeboard.org—see below
- Second—you will make payment starting in a few weeks (be on the lookout for more details on when payments can be made on schoolcashonline)
At this time, ALL AP Students need to make sure they have signed into their myap.collegeboard.org account and have already enrolled in their AP class sections or exam only sections. This is the student’s responsibility to complete all enrollment into courses. Your teacher will give you the join code, so be sure to check with them if needed.
For students that do NOT already have a College Board account, you will need to go to College Board to create one. Please make sure you only have ONE account, and you must use your legal name when you register. If new to TWHS, please make sure you have updated your school code under your profile to 441471 The Woodlands HS. It’s also very important to make sure you have listed your TWHS school ID under Student ID (also under profile).
If any questions, please email Mrs. Spears at wspears@conroeisd.net

FINAL EXAM EXEMPTION POLICY:
At the end of each eighteen-week grading period, students will take midterm and/or final exams. Students are only eligible for exemption from final exams, not midterm exams. Seniors are eligible for final exam exemptions in both the Fall and Spring semesters. Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are only eligible for final exam exemptions in the Spring semester. Absences include all days missed: Excused and Unexcused. Pre-approved absences, DOC’s, and hospital stays count against exemptions. School field trips, athletic events, UIL events, HCPs (health care provider - student
attended school part of the day), PREs (present), GLOs (grade level office), ECLs (election clerk), CTZs (citizenship), NATs (naturalization), CVs (up to two College Visits) and religious holidays are not considered absences. Any student that has served ISS, DAEP, or OSS while enrolled in a course in the spring semester is not eligible for an exam exemption for that particular course.
A student granted a final exam exemption must still attend that class during the final exam period.
Failure to attend and stay the entire period will result in a zero or an incomplete for that course.
To qualify for an exemption on Final Exams, the student must meet the following criteria:
18 Week Courses:
Average of 85 or better with only 2 absences
Average of 90 or better with only 3 absences
Year Long Courses:
Average of 85 or better with only 4 absences cumulative for the year
Average of 90 or better with only 5 absences cumulative for the year
CLINIC NOTES:
Your nurses this year are Alana Ansley at the Senior Campus, aransley@conroeisd.net or 936-709-1076, and Erica Falcon at the Ninth Grade Campus, efalcon@conroeisd.net or 832-592-8209. We are available in the clinic from 7:00-3:00 on school days.
· As we are completing enrollment for this school year, we are contacting parents/guardians by email for students who have any overdue vaccines or expiring Conscientious Objector exemptions. Please take care of any missing vaccines promptly so that your student may remain enrolled.
· If your student requires any medications while they are on campus, they must be checked in to the clinic or athletic trainers by a parent or guardian. Students may not transport medication to or from school. All medications must be in their original, labeled container, unexpired, and we ask that you provide no more than a 30-day supply.
· Students with chronic medical conditions such as asthma, severe allergies, diabetes, or seizures should have a new action plan signed by their doctor and parent each school year. We highly encourage students to carry their own Epi-Pen or inhaler; those do need to be accompanied by a self-carry form. This form must also be provided to the clinic to be kept on file throughout the school year. Please refer to https://www.conroeisd.net/department/health-services/important-forms/ for copies of those forms.
For the most up to date information on the district’s COVID-19 policy, we ask that you refer to the district’s Roadmap to Remaining Open, www.conroeisd.net/roadmap-to-reopening. Please continue to self-report any positive cases in the COVID app in your student’s SSO, and it will give you their return date, as well as notify the attendance office and nurse of the absence

THE WOODLANDS HIGH SCHOOL ART TRUST:
Have you ever noticed the 56 works of art by established Texas artists that are permanently displayed in the hallways at school? This is The Woodlands High School Art Trust Collection and we are celebrating our 12th year! This collection of art works has been selected and purchased by our students over the past 11 years. Each year we add new works to the collection and our next selection process is about to begin. Submissions open on September 1st and will be accepted until October 9th for consideration into our collection for 2022. We invite established Texas artists who have had work accepted into a juried show and are over 21 to submit works to be considered for acquisition in 2022. If you know an established Texas Artist that might be interested, please pass this information on! Click HERE to learn more.
In mid-October, our student committee will narrow down the works submitted to 12-15 artworks that will be voted on by the entire student body in mid-November. Posters of the artworks will be on view at school in November and the original pieces will be displayed in the cafeteria just prior to voting. The students will purchase as many as possible of the pieces that receive the most votes on November 17.
The artworks are purchased through funds set aside by Student Council from the Homecoming Dance, however, the framing, lighting and conservation of these pieces need funding. Consider helping with that funding and show your support for The Woodlands High School Art Trust by joining our "One Hundred Friends of Art." Our goal is to have 100 arts supporters make an annual donation to support our cause. Donations are tax deductible and start as low as $10!! Visit our website to make a contribution: www.twhsat.org
The Woodlands High School Art Trust (TWHSAT) a 501(c)3 organization, was established in 2011 to help maintain, conserve and display the student-selected, student-purchased collection of established artists at The Woodlands High School. The vision for the TWHS Art Trust is to see the art collection grow each year and to have it extend through the hallways of the high school. We offer FREE tours of our collection to schools and other groups by appointment.
Other than the public sculptures around The Woodlands, this is the ONLY permanent collection of art available to the public. It is seen by THOUSANDS of people every day. Please consider supporting this unique collection that sets us apart from other public high schools and strengthens our goal of being one of the best high schools in the state and country.
For more information on The Woodlands High School Art Trust please visit our website: www.twhsat.org or contact Susan Cosculluela at twhsat@gmail.com
