Message from the Office
Dear Parents & Students,
Thank you to all families who were able to join us for our Meet the Teacher evening on Thursday, September 14th. It was a wonderful event. We were very happy to welcome all of our new familes to OLPH and reconnect with our returning families.
As a staff we are blessed to have so many wonderful families who believe in us and our abilities to teach our students to become good citizens of the world. As an educator, parents feedback is always appreciated.
God Bless

You are able to make payments on-line or by cheque at the office. We would, however, like to encourage you to pay your school fees on-line. All cheques must be made payable to EICS. In addition, you may divide your payments either on-line or by postdated cheques.
If you require any assistance with these fees, the Division offers a "Fee Waiver Program". More information can be found at
Permission Required!
Please remember to sign on to your PowerSchool to acknowledge the following documents:

- EICS Low Risk Field Trip Annual Consent Form
- Locker Use Agreement
How to Complete Forms
- Go to https://powerschool.eics.ab.ca
- Click on Yearly Consent
- Select your answer from the drop down menu.
- Click Submit for each section.
- Be sure to complete all three sections for each child you have enrolled in the school.

We appreciate your support in completing these forms by September 15, 2017.
Thanks in advance for helping us get this year off to a great start!!!
Be Like Terry Fox!!!
Chers Parents,
École OLPH will be participating in the National School Run Day on Thursday, September 28th, in support of the Terry Fox Foundation. This year, our school theme will continue to be “ Soyez Comme Terry” ~ "Be Like Terry".
Although we are a smaller school community, we are hoping to continue to support the Terry Fox Foundation as much as we have in the past. Our goal is to raise $1500 this year, since we met this goal last year, we feel confident that we will be able to accomplish it again.
Our challenges to the students are:
Challenge 1: If the students raise $1 000, the students will get to wear their hats in the school for a week.
Challenge 2: If the students raise $1 250, the students will get a 15 minute recess during the afternoon for a week.
Challenge 3: If the students raise $1 500, M. St.Jean will be duct taped to the school’s flag post and a random draw of all the students who make a donation will determine who will get to pie M. St.Jean!
We will be collecting donations beginning Monday, September 11th, until Thursday, October 5th. Students are asked to hand in all donations to the office. Donations can also be made online through the Terry Fox Foundation website at
www.terryfox.ca/OurLadyofPerpetualHelp.
Tax receipts will be issued by the Terry Fox Foundation for any cheque donations greater than $20.
Thank you for your support in the fight against cancer!
Merci beaucoup,
The Grade 6 Team,
Mme Miller & Mlle Roy
Grade 8 ~ Quebec Trip Information
The first information night and fundraising committee meeting was held on Wednesday, September 6th, 2017.
Each student who wishes to go on the trip is required to submit a $100 non-refundable deposit and the Nacel participant application form which are both due by Monday, September 18th, 2017.
As a reminder, this year all payment fees for the Quebec trip will be processed through your child’s PowerSchool account. This process is scheduled to begin as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding with regards to this new process.
Should you still wish to pay by cheque, please make the cheques payable to EICS.
If you were unable to attend or have any questions or concerns, please contact Mme Gagnon at deniseg@eics.ab.ca for more information.
Help Needed ~ Vegreville Food Bank Drive
Help Needed!!!
Food Bank Drive for our Vegreville Families!!!
The Immigration Centre in Vegreville
is relocating to Edmonton and this is
affecting 5% of the population in Vegreville.
Many Vegreville families are without a job
and finding the back to school process
difficult this year.
Our EICS schools would like to organize
a food drive to show our support towards
our Vegreville schools and families.
During the next two weeks, we encourage
our students to bring non-perishable food items
to school, that we will then donate to the
Vegreville food bank.
Thank you for your support with this.
Merci!
L'épluchette!!!

There will be an open gym at EPK on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 4-6 pm.

Tryouts will be Tuesday, September 26, 2017 from 4-6pm at EPK gym.
Once the team is put together practices will be at EPK on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00-6:00pm from October until May. The team will perform at 2-3 competitive events and cost for the year is expected to be under $100.
