Alumni Updates

After 124 days, Paige (Bayer) Johnson (’11) and her husband, Damon, were able to bring their first born, Lauren Adell, home in April. Lauren was born in December 2020 but was in the NICU at Dell Children’s in Austin, TX until she was recently discharged. Lauren is now 10 lb. 10.5 oz., happy and healthy. Welcome home, Lauren, and congratulations, Paige and Damon!

Olivia Bohman (’08) is currently an EMT for the Colorado Rockies. She assists an orthopedic surgeon while providing care to world-class athletes and highly active locals. With Colorado being a high tourist area, Bohman said COVID-19 was especially tough for her. Keep up the great work, Olivia! (Olivia is on the right in the photograph.)

James (Jim) Cummings ('82) recently recently helped open the doors of Kijana Global Innovation School, a pre-primary and primary private school located in Western Kenya. Cummings lived and volunteered in Western Kenya for 15 months, stepping away from first-world living and into a life without electricity and running water. The school opened its doors to 15 students in January 2020. The enrollment is now over 80 students, while the school plans to add high school-equivalent classes by 2023. Way to make the world a better place, Jim!
