Awesome Citizens
ST Math and 25 Years of Jiji
As stated in our DCS Curriculum Wiki, ST Math is our district-purchased supplemental resource for individualized and spaced practice in the area of mathematics. ST Math is meant to build student confidence in mathematics which is done through visual problem solving.
ST Math is a visual program that uses the brain’s innate spatial-temporal reasoning ability to solve mathematical problems through challenging puzzles and games. It is designed as a tool for practice and exploration rather than a graded assignment. We want to encourage intrinsic motivation and productive struggle as students think about the puzzles and connected mathematics.
Student learning with ST Math is enhanced through shared conversations whole group, small group, or individually with students. ST Math is aligned to the majority of Ohio’s Learning Standards and provides an enhancement, not a replacement or substitute, of the DCS Elementary School Mathematics Curriculum.
