Community Champion Awards

As stated on the Dublin Chamber of Commerce Website, "The Community Champion Awards is an awards program sponsored by the Dublin Chamber Civic Foundation and Dublin City Schools that honors students and staff of the Dublin City School District. These awards aim to nurture young citizens who engage in society through leadership and service, and honor students and staff of Dublin City Schools who exemplify the best of volunteerism, character, leadership, and a sense of caring and responsibility for others. These are individuals who go above and beyond and exemplify what it means to be a good role model for the community."

We are proud of our student community champions and staff member, Katie Guehl.

Awesome Citizens

Thomas Tigers are being noticed for their tremendous citizenship! Everyday, staff look for students exhibiting sensational citizenship traits. Students are given tickets which are put into a weekly drawing per grade level. Check out the pictures of our awesome citizens!

ST Math and 25 Years of Jiji

Friday, Thomas celebrated 25 years of JiJi. JiJi is the penguin who guides our students through their ST Math journey. Many students and staff wore white and black to look like a penguin. Many ST Math activities took place, several involving JiJi's picture hidden around the school. We encourage students to keep practicing to build their problem-solving and numeracy skills by utilizing ST Math.

As stated in our DCS Curriculum Wiki, ST Math is our district-purchased supplemental resource for individualized and spaced practice in the area of mathematics. ST Math is meant to build student confidence in mathematics which is done through visual problem solving.

ST Math is a visual program that uses the brain’s innate spatial-temporal reasoning ability to solve mathematical problems through challenging puzzles and games. It is designed as a tool for practice and exploration rather than a graded assignment. We want to encourage intrinsic motivation and productive struggle as students think about the puzzles and connected mathematics.

Student learning with ST Math is enhanced through shared conversations whole group, small group, or individually with students. ST Math is aligned to the majority of Ohio’s Learning Standards and provides an enhancement, not a replacement or substitute, of the DCS Elementary School Mathematics Curriculum.
