Comm Arts was well represented by the Cross Country Team at Districts last week. Congratulations to our girls team: Natalie Badillo, Brooklyn Crow, Kelsay Edwards, and Nadia Santamaria. They were District Champs! Sean Torres placed ninth overall for the boys. All five athletes qualified to run at Regionals this Monday, October 23rd in Corpus Christi. Good Luck and run fast!
AET
Last week the Arts and Entertainment OnRamps classes started brainstorming their video game level designs. This project is our first group Project Based Learning assignment and it will last a total of seven weeks. They will continue to create the level with original tilesets, obstacles, set pieces, theme, video game cover design, as well as both character and object sprites.
Premiere Esports
Justin Bowdidge, Andres Cruz, and Isaac Sabogal represented CAHS at R20 Premiere Esports League for San Antonio last Saturday. Even though they didn't make top 32, they got pretty far. They played Smash Bros. Way to go!
Presentations
Advanced Spanish 3 gave presentations on important hispanic individuals that have contributed to our society and have had a positive impact. Student presentations have QR code links to their slide show, and students used props and outfits that represent the Hispanic individual.
Hispanic Heritage Month
SNHS participated in dress up days for the last week of Hispanic Heritage Month. The themes were Calaveras, Fiesta, Vaqueros, and Rosa Raiders. SNHS also hosted their last activity to celebrate the end of Hispanic Heritage Month. Students played LoterÃa with cards created by the officers. Winners received sweet prizes!

Mrs. Davern coaches spelling (for former spelling bee competitors), ready writing (those who love to write argumentative papers), and literary criticism (for readers). All grades are welcome. Mrs. Davern can connect you to the right coach if you are interested in other events. An informational session will be held during lunch next week. Listen to the announcements for the date.
