ELA
This week we will be completing our unit on POV and plan to assess early next week.
Later in the week we will start working on context clues. There is no way to teach every word in the English language, but we can learn strategies to help us figure out unknown words. The goal is to not give up when we come across an unknown word, but to be detectives and figure it out by clues around the word.

Social Studies
This week in SS we are starting on Ch. 5: The American Revolution. Chapter 5 is one of my favorite chapters, but it is huge! We are going to break up the chapter and give 2 assessments. The first assessment will cover Lessons 1 and 2. The second assessment will cover lessons 3, 4, 5. We will also be creating a timeline for major events and people of the revolution. Finally, we will be creating a Revolutionary Newspaper to wrap the whole chapter up. Should be lots of fun!!
